Fellow VolNation,

I just wanted to let you know that I am diehard, Knoxville native, but living in Pensacola, FL. Down here it is tough to ever see our team play live, but I have just that chance this weekend. A buddy of mine attends Miss. St. and was able to swipe a Student ID for me to go watch the game with him.

So, I will be in the middle of the MSU student section. Which sounds great, because I will be able to let them know how good the VOLS are eye to eye.

Here is my dilemma:

I was told that I probably shouldn't wear too much Orange since I am using some one else's ID and I probably wouldn't pass a MSU student decked out in all orange. Any suggestions for this situation, and is there anyone else that will be going to cheer for our VOLS? Let me know and look for the lone Orange guy in the middle tomorrow night on ESPN.

Here is to spoiling their spoiler game and ruining their Senior Night.

buy an MSU jump suite(wind breaker?) and then change after you get into the arena....revealing your true colors.... just a suggestion.

Wear Maroon until tip off then shed it to reveal a beautiful Orange Garb.

Also good luck if we fall apart like we have all of our other road games!

Throw water bottles on the court. Then they'll know that you're a msu student.

Dress in MSU colors but sneak in a boom box and right before tipoff blare RockyTop from the boom box as loud as possible and rip your shirt off showing your orange painted chest....

Wear orange, just don't expect to be treated nicely as you'll have to sit in the student section.

Yeah Id just hide your UT orange until you got into the arena, way to represent the Vols in a hostile environment, and good luck!

Sounds like you are wanting to get your a_ _ kicked. Just think how that would go over in TB arena. Somebody would smack the s_ _ t out of you. Just saying!!!!!

No, last year durring the Gameday Florida game there was a dude in Gator gear in the student section and all we did was boo him mercifully.

Just go to Wal Mart and buy one of those orange garbage truck worker vest, and just say that you had to come to the game straight from your part time job. :)

On a serious note, I would ditch the student ID ASAP once getting in the building. If something does go down, you don't want to have that thing on you, IMO.

Good point.

Buy a cover-all that you can take off after the game starts. That's believable for an MSU student, right?

Don't worry about it, just because you attend a school doesn't mean you follow their sports team. A few yrs. ago an Auburn cheerleader revealed during the iron bowl that he was an Alabama fan. I attended UNA, but I was still a huge UT fan.

If UT wins, storm the court by yourself. Maybe at the very least it would cost MSU $$. haha

Three words: More Orange Cowbell!!! And if Pooch Punt wants more cowbell, you should probably give him more cowbell!

I'm at UNA now and love our football team, but UT is always #1 in my heart.

Thanks for all of the good lucks and ideas. I will try my best to do us proudly, but I will have to be respectful for my friend. I wont be too raucous.

Not really. Some douche was wearing Kentucky gear in the Rocky Top Rowdies section a couple of years ago and nothing happened. I wished for telekinetic powers to make him fall on his blue butt though.

A few years ago I came up to an Auburn football game and used a student ID my friend had borrowed for me. I was sitting with her and the rest of her sorority sisters wearing a Tulane Green Wave tee shirt and was the only male within 100 ft not wearing an orange bow tie and blue seersucker pants. The frat boys gave me a few dirty looks, mostly because Tulane hung in with them up 'til halftime, but in general when they see you with your friend, they just let you be so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I did my Master's degree at LSU and am currently finishing my Doctorate here as well. I use my student ID (legally) to get into the UT/LSU Bball games all the time. I get an occasional dirty look, but it's not to bad. I also don't sit in the student section as the PMAC officials are pretty lax about where you sit. You may actually want to check into that last point. Do you have to sit in the student section just because you use a student ID to get in?
