The LOI question comes up every year at this time. Needs to be a permanent sticky.
Can we get Derrick Brown's fax/email and send him a couple of faxes on Auburn and UGA letterhead that say that they're no longer in need of his services? :thud:
Not a bad idea. I was thinking the exact same thing the other day.
I assume our staff sends the LOI on NSD by fax with their name and other defining info, then have them sign (notarize?) it and fax back. If nobody sends you an LOI ,then :cray:.
Been thinking about forging my own LOI and faxing it in on NSD, so the fax girl can get it with a strange look on face as she carries it down to Butch. Who knows, I have full eligibility. Plus, the older I get, the greater I was. Sooo ...lol:
Actually didnt a kid do something like that and Oregon I believe had to out him and say we mever offered this kid. Ill look up story to make sure of parties involved but it backfired on the kid obviously lol.
Wasn't there a kid a couple of years ago that had multiple LOIs sent in, maybe he sent one and his mother sent another to a different school? Am I remembering that right?
Pretty sure York is referring to Alex Collins at Arky. There was a situation with Landon Collins. I know he was wanting to go to Bama and his mom was wanting him to go to LSU but I can't remember the exact scenario. This may not be the situation that you are referring to though.
Here's how it works:
Recruit attends a camp in 8th grade and happens to have a good day on the stat sheet. Recruit is showered with positive attention from coaches, schools and message boards for the next 4 years. Recruit develops an inflated sense of self and entitlement mentality because all the adults in his life treat him like he's the key to their happiness. Recruit pulls some lame stunt on NSD when picking a school where only the fans of the school he chose think it's awesome. Recruit shows up for the first day of practice and finds out the last 4 years of his life were a complete lie.
