I just do not understand how Butch can try to say it takes 6-7 years to turn around a program, when Franklin, Saban, and others have done it in 2-3 years.
Franklin had worse or at best equal job of turning around team, yet regular season is over and he is in top 10.
Saban while he did not have great talent he did have better then Butch, but again it took him 2 years and Butch is in year 4.
I agree injuries hurt... a lot, but he was struggling at beginning of season too with App. St.
I like others get tired of him blaming fans, making excuses, and most of all saying 'You did not hear me saying we were ready to compete for championships'.
And Saban didn't have an NFL qb until year 4. Butch has had Dobbs the entire time. It just shows you that ALL these other coaches are better than Butch. Vandy has made two straight super hires!! Vandy should be bowl eliedgible for the next few years. 6-6 to 8-4 is where they can stay. Something is still going on where UT can't hire a good coach. I have no doubt that if Mason was at a decent school with more resources instead of Vandy he would be at least 8-4 if not better. You put him or Stoops from UK at Txam or Ole Miss, teams that normally are bowl teams then they would be 10-2 almost every year!! IDK what is going on here.
