So I am going to see the other UT play this weekend

A friend who is a Longhorn fan has invited me to accompany him to Austin to take in the Texas-Ole Miss game this Saturday.

Since there is no timing conflict with our game, I thought it would be a fun experience. I just made it clear that we had to be somewhere that would be showing our game with Oregon while we were doing our pre-game thing.

I am torn on my rooting interest. My friend is a big Longhorn fan, so the weekend might ultimately be more fun if they win, but it might be interesting to see the meltdown if Ole Miss beats them.

Predictions on the game?

I predict that I will be drunk and wearing Tennessee gear. If we shock the world and beat Oregon earlier I will be the most obnoxious fan of a team that is not currently in their stadium that they have ever seen.

What a conflict. On the one hand, Texas winning means a Ole Miss loss which is good. Hate them, though they are SEC.

But a Texas loss means that Ole Miss is further elevated, but that Mack Brown is one step closer to being out. That's probably not a good thing since you know they would hit a home run hire. Unless that home run hire is Saban as some speculate. That would be good.

So many variables.

But there is only one UT. Ever

A few questions:

Did your buddy actually buy tickets, because from what it looks like lately, you could probablly just walk right in and sit wherever you wanted to.

Was that an ententional troll job by a Mod to call t.u. the "Other UT"? If so, well done.

Do you subscribe to the "SEC SEC SEC" ideology? If so, you'll know what to do as far as cheering goes.

If you have not booked a hotel room yet, do so ASAP. Word on the street is they are filling up fast in Austin, since no one can get a room to rent within 70 miles of College Station this weekend.

And I'll end this with a statement: If I see one facebook picture of hook em horns on your hands, we're no longer friends.

If Ole Miss looks late in the game like it is going to win, I'd get the F out of dodge. Entire place might spontaneously combust.

Funny, I'm going to my first Texas game tomorrow too. Ole Miss wins 38-34.

I'll be the other guy in Tennessee gear if we beat Oregon.

I don't understand how this game isn't on TV, yet we're getting gems like LSU vs Kent St or Oklahoma St vs Lamar.

Fixed it.

Chances are the Rebs are going to win. Ashe isn't playing this week and let's face it, Texas is on the downhill slide

Let us know what the banners say on the planes that buzz the stadium. Guessing at least one will say "Mack Brown is not our standard" lol.

I had a lot of fun. We went to a cool place with lots of different beers Friday night. We went to Franklin's BBQ for lunch Saturday and then crashed a nice tailgate of a friend of a friend. The game sucked for my friend, but it honestly went how I expected.

Nice city and nice campus. Fun place to see a game.
