Alabama and Arkansas are both unbeaten with Arkansas just winning a tournament over Kansas State and Cincinnati this week.

UK hasn't played anyone except Duke and loss that game. UK was horrid last year.

I don't understand it. Why is UK still getting so much love? Keep in mind that if I wasn't a UT fan, I would probably be rooting for UK since my grandfather was from Kentucky and rooted for UK.

Rhetorical? By now anyone knows why. Theyre royalty. They've got 5 stars up and down the roster. Season is in its infancy. Wouldnt worry about rankings this early in the season. They mean nothing right now.

Last year was a team that gave up and was an unusual year with COVID. They get to start over with a clean slate. They still have a roster loaded with talent.

In today's NCAA you can build a whole new team year over year. This is mostly what Kentucky did.

They had a few decent to good players come back, they had another good recruiting class, but more importantly they landed good transfers. They aren't coached well but apparently that doesn't deter them from going to UK.

They’re Kentucky. Not trying to be a smart @ss but seriously.......what else do you need to know? All major sports media coveraging men’s bball gets a hard one when the top 15 includes UK, Duke, Kansas, Michigan State, UNC, UCLA, and a more “recent” addition to elite status, Gonzaga. They can’t help but prop those teams up as the gold standard. Trying to seem relevant. Nothing more.
The one I really don’t understand this year is not UK. For me it’s Memphis. I don’t believe they’re very good. They’re young, yes, but they look undisciplined and chaotic. They don’t look like they’re coached well. Maybe they’ll become fluid and improve, heck I don’t give a rip if they do cuz I hate them and their loud mouth crybaby coach, but I really don’t think they’re deserving of their ranking. I think that’ll take care of itself as the season progresses though.

I don’t understand why they are rated so high either. We returned several veterans (Fulky, Vescovi, JJJ) and had the best recruiting class in the conference. So how are they considered a top ten team given the bad year they had last year?

They had the best recruiting class and 2/3 gigantic transfers… Cal is up to his old tricks because he can’t do it on his coaching abilities.

Ten years after we fell off the cliff in football they were still putting us in the preseason top 25. It's just how it's always worked. They shouldn't have the first poll till some time in December after overhyped teams get exposed.

They have a completely new team with signees and big time transfers. They’ll be tough come January.

They have had good recruiting classes for a while (supposedly) but they haven't done jack in years. Yes, Calipari's teams were awesome when he first started but it seems like now they have more unsuccessful, than successful seasons.

Granted, I was touted Alabama and they lost to Iona today.

Pitino, despite being the King of Slime in CBB circles in my book, is a great coach. The old adage “he can take his & beat yours or take yours & beat his” applies to him.

Guys like him, Izzo, Jay Wright just coach a different game that the rest of coaches. Their teams are tough as nails.

He cheats best during recruiting cycles rather than game-by-game.
