So is Dobbs officially now known as "Rocketman"?

Will his nickname change when he changes his major? :)

Lol jk - but really any engineer knows most who start out in engineering will change to business. Hell we called if "pre-business" for the younger guys until they got into junior courses.

This is what I was thinking.Especially if he lands the starting QB job next season. This poor guy wont have time to sleep, much less have any kind of life. All the physics and calculus and differential equations courses,aerodynamics,chemistry,statics,jet/rocket propulsion........and that is just scraping the surface.Still got lots of gen ed courses too. To pull that off would be nothing short of incredible and I will have to see it to believe it. Those major courses are no joke,I know from personal experience. I'm sure he is super intelligent but it will take a hell of a lot more than that to be the starting QB here and keep his grades up enough to stay in the program for four years. Hope he can pull it off......that really would be amazing.

Rocket boy? Since "Rocket Boys" (eventually changed to "October Sky") WAS filmed in East Tennessee, after all.

Not to be "sacrilegious" or anything, but Dobbs reminds me a little bit of Condredge Holloway, who's from Huntsville, AL (Lee High School, to be exact) - The "Rocket City," home of NASA Space Flight Center and Redstone Arsenal - so....the Rocketman title kinda fits for me.

Plus, I lived there from '87-'95.

Reminds me of Condredge too. Condredge's mom was the first black NASA employee and like Dobbs' parents his were also focused on academics. They also have the baseball interest in common. AND given what I've seen of Dobbs' play and HS tape as well as what I've read it's not so much his speed that gives defenses fits but his ability to elude defenders. He's another "Artful Dodger."

That said, they're obviously two different players. And Dobbs will end up being his own man/player when all is said and done but they do have things in common.
