So Ole Miss

His players knew he was flirting with the enemy.
It helped scuttled their season.

I wouldn't trust him with a program.
He is never settled. He is a player, not a coach.
He is in charge at OM, not the AD.
Insubordination can be Cause for Termination. If he is delinquent in his job, he needs to be reined in.
He neglected his duty and received a raise. What is good for Ole Miss doesn't seem to be what Kiffin thinks is good for him.

The AD needs to put him in his place, but has neither leverage or the will to be the boss.
It will have an effect on other sports.

Really? He lost his last 3 games. He’d taken the Auburn job if they’d announced it Friday. Auburn couldn’t & he decided to back out.
He was never leaving. His daughter moved to Oxford this year to live with him and no way he was going to make her move halfway through her SR of HS.

Of course he interviewed but it was well reported by the Si and Thamel folks that his family staying Oxford was a big issue. I’m with you, Kiffin of course had to interview if a school like Auburn calls but it’s very clear the family had a role in his decision. Kiffin lives rent free in people’s head for something over a decade ago lol

Kiffin only lives rent free in the people’s heads who love that he goes for it repeatedly on 4rth down and has a WAP Twitter game, and think he would ‘kill it’ if he had ___ job. Kiffin interviewed for the Auburn job because he wanted it. They weren’t going to pay him $9 million or anywhere close, (like any sane person) and that’s why he is still at Ole Miss.

If Hugh Freeze got 6.5 million per year plus a locked social media account and mega millions NIL, Kiffin was easily going to fetch 8-10 million. Freeze….

You can have your opinion and I can have mine, but Kiffin seriously pursued the Auburn job, and he did so knowing full well that he had a family in Oxford. Why it didn’t work out is only a matter of speculation.

You can’t say you have an opinion and then say definitively “he pursued the job seriously”. His son is purportedly moving to Oxford next year to live with him as well and it’s because he wants to be in Knoxville. I think you can reasonably say he considered the Auburn job and listened to them but once his kids said “no” he called off talks. His daughter is planning to attend Ole Miss next year and it would be a complete dick move to up and leave after your daughter relocated to be with you. You can say he only cares about himself and is a dick, but I refuse to believe that when it comes to his own kids.

There is some evidence to back up my opinion. He refused to address the matter for two weeks, he didn’t sign his contract extension, and he told his team that there was a small possibility that he would leave. One could reasonably assume that he was seriously considering the Auburn job, or some other position somewhere else. He also went 1-4 to end the season, and seemed like he had mentally checked out from the moment Harsin was fired. Your opinion is based on something you heard about his kids. It’s pretty much the same thing.

It’s based on his words. He told his team the week before the Egg Bowl that he would announce after the Egg Bowl that he was staying. He didn’t need to address the matter in the public if his mind was made up and the ones that matter knew. His team went 1-4 because they finally played the meat of their schedule. Their 6-0 start was a product of their cakewalk schedule the first half of the season.

“I told the team last week I would be announcing after the game I was staying because I wanted all this attention on them and not me,” Kiffin told OutKick. “The only reason any of this came up and became an issue was one reporter falsely making up that I was going to Auburn.”

Kiffin also told OutKick that his daughter Landry being halfway through her senior year of high school and loving it in Oxford was his main reason for not entertaining the offer. Having to move his family, with his son spending more time in Oxford, hoping to move there soon, Kiffin said that he is happy with his life. Whether you believe him or not, Kiffin might have fun on social media, but behind the scenes with his family, it’s a different life.

I get your reasoning, but there is no common sense involved in waiting to announce he was staying. Zero logic and reasoning behind that. He already had his raise locked down, and it might’ve cost him the egg bowl, if his team was as anxiously distracted as he appeared to be. If he knew all along that he was staying, he would have said so two weeks earlier. But he was waiting to see if they went with Freeze.

He told the team. He didn’t tell you.
