In all of the threads regarding UT's projected results for the upcoming football season, I see more respect for LSU (as in you guys thinking you'd lose to us), than for most any other team. I'm not trying to make this a fishing-for-compliments thread, but I'd sure like to know why you guys think LSU will be so much trouble, other than the revenge factor.

Understand, I believe LSU will take you to the line. But I'm not sold on an LSU win at Neyland.

LSU and Auburn are getting a lot of love this year. If you settle on a QB and they play well, and fix the secondary issues you had last year, LSU will be tough to beat anywhere.

There isn't much besides the revenge factor, IMO. You have a solid QB, good WRs, and a GREAT DEFENSE. If Vincent returns to old form, LSU will be a top 10 team.

The game will be close, but besides revenge, its pretty even.

LSU has a great team, they have talent on both sides of the ball.
I am sure that the game at Neyland will be a slobberknocker and will come down to the end.

Both teams are going to have a lot of new starters on O-line, D-line and LB. LSU has proven QB any if there is a controvery it should be resolved by November. UT has a Jeckyll-Hyde QB and if Hyde reappears there is no telling what Crompton or Hardegree can do. LSU has proven receivers. UT's recievers, while expected to do better, pretty much sucked last year. The Vols have lost 10 games in Knoxville in the past 5 years so homefield advantage is not such a big thing on Rocky Top. LSU has the revenge factor. Finally, 5-6 vs 11-2.

When I put all this in the can and shake it up I keep coming up with an LSU win. Hope I'm wrong though. :wink2:

LSU has played us tough the last couple times we have met. There is an underlying respect for some of the unmentionables but you wouldn't know it from remarks made and written. LSU will play tough again this year but right now my feeling is Vols will win this one.

Well you guys are still living off Sabin's recruiting classes. When they are gone you guys wont get that much love. Enjoy it while you can!!!!

LSU's neck deep in talent, our only hope is Les Miles, possibly the only guy in the SEC other than Rich Brooks that CPF can outcoach

I dunno. He landed a pretty good class last season, and from what i understand, he recruited fairly well at OSU. :tease2:

I have more respect for LSU than I do Fla., because LSU is much more balanced on offense. LSU's QB is much better than GA.'s also. I like Auburn to win the conf. though, but they have the bullseye, therefore history is not on their side.

Actually, the vast majority of folks on here seem to think Florida will beat UT, as well. At least the bulk of regulars seem to feel that way. Personally, if the game were being played this weekend, I would probably give Florida a very slight advantage. But by the time the game comes around, that could shift a lot. Injuries, losses before then, etc. could all change that.

Florida was actually very balanced last year. Just in a rather mediocre way (by Florida standards). Gators threw 385 times, versus 455 rushing attempts. They scored 20 touchdowns through the air, 19 on the ground.

Another reason we have nothing bad to say against you is 20-5-3 record against you guys. It is hard to be hostile and resentful to a team that we own.

If we played you every year, Vol fans would not be giving you much props. The fact that you are not really a main rival makes it more a friendly match up. It is a shame we dont play every season because LSU values its history and teams enthusiasm. We have played you guys less than any other SEC team that was around pre-expansion in 92, so there really has not been annual rivalry that was built up between us 2. We had some memorable games but nothing like what we had on a yearly basis with Bama and Auburn and even Ole Miss from the West prior to SC and Ark joining the SEC.

I've not been to a game there but I have seen the LSU campus and thought it was very nice. Clean, well-maintained, very inviting.

No man, it was late in the fall many years back. I can picture driving through the center of campus. Very nice.

Why is Urban always complaining about his RB's.

LSU and Auburn are the teams to beat this year. Too many questions to answer this early for any other team. Even the East powerhouses have a lot to answer for (especially Tennessee).

I think Auburn is the class to beat in the SEC. Les Miles' teams just seem to underwhelm. Sorry Atreus, I just don't see LSU continuing to contend now that Saban is gone. At least you guys are looking at the most talented team in the SEC, so that may just carry you through.

Eh, there's still no telling, as far as I'm concerned. Last year had too many variables. First year head coach, the hurricane, lotsa stuff. Assuming nothing crazy happens off the field, this year will tell alot about Miles' future.

At least Miles learned you can't hear jack when you wear one of those Britney Spears headsets.
