Why is it ok to refer to the talent on this team as crap? But we arent allowed to criticize the 4th highest paid coach in college football when things go wrong?

He is not the 4th highest paid coach the figure in USA Today included the buyout we paid to Cincy.

The game sucked. I was there. It was cold, the offense looked like the one that got beat by KY 2 years ago. Dobbs looked out of sorts, receivers did him no favors. Lane or Neal couldn't house one, the line did them few favors. With a nonexistent passing game whose shocked there. The play calling left a lot to be desired.

My sentiments are to blame whoever in the hell you want. Not a lot will change from it. We'll be lucky to beat KY this year. Heaven help us next season with Neal gone and both lines basically gone.

Not saying that. Sunshine pumpers call the players crap, negavols criticize the coaches. Sunshine pumpers get after the negavols for doing so like jones is their first born

Criticize away. The fact of the matter is that Butch Jones has not had enough time to shape this program and put it into a position to win consistently.

The fundamental truth of all sports is that players are responsible for their performance on the field. A coach cannot make his players run faster, catch footballs, or block. All he can do is teach the technique in practice, gameplan, call plays and recruit. Considering everything we've been through this season, I'd say that CBJ has done all of those things successfully. There have been miscues, there have been mistakes, but when UT has been at its best, a lot of that is a result of CBJ's gametime decisions and playcalling (see Georgia and South Carolina).

I think georgia and usc both had great in game management, my criticism comes from the shell the staff disappeared into last night.

It was one game. This staff should not be defined by one game, particularly this early in the process.

It was Vandy at home coming off of a bye week. One loss isn't everything but that one was a huge withdrawal on the emotional bank account of Vol fans who are buying into what he's selling.

Well all I can say is that I am withholding judgement of this staff and placing confidence in them until I can see how they perform with their own players.

The talent is not crap but they are not SEC talent. We have a 2 deep problem. A solid QB less false starts and atleast one lockdown CB. Things could have been different. I am not saying a NC but atleast a win or two more.

Next year is going to be the same.

Young talent.

Year 3 you can question all you want if things don't start looking better.

Neal isnt even the best back on the team. We didnt move the balk until lane got in the game. He(lane) should of had 30 carries last night.

Lane-5.9 per carry last night. Only 9 carries though

Neal-4.3 per carry. Drops the second he is touched and still dances in the backfield too much.
