We were sitting in the southside stands. The hotel was above the north endzone. The hotel is not directly adjacent to the stadium. It's about 1/2 block away.
I believe they are/were doing construction in both end zones actually. Which for most schools is crazy but when you average 1500 fans at most games it's not a big deal. Just do the work in an odd number year when you have fewer quality home games.
I thought a better plan would have build a "Syracuse Carrier Dome" and tear down Dudley Field and Memorial Gym and build a small dome for both sports. Use the dome for soccer and lacrosse as well and build a better baseball facility where soccer and lacrosse are at now on a bigger footprint.. They could have the athletic complex attached to dome- perhaps where the baseball field is now.
A new dome could have been built constructed into an large excavation and would fit into the campus a little better. They could use half the floor space for basketball utilizing moving stands dividing the space. Or the dome could be built on top of a very large parking structure. Vanderbilt could be the only school in the SEC with an interior dome and would have a very large arena for basketball. IT would have been a bit of a advantage just for its uniqueness
