So we have the power to make Universities pay up? Throw the farm at Mullen then.

If we don't get him, then at least they paid up. Make Richt and Muschamp do the same. Who cares?

There's a big ol' pile of cash at UT, let everyone at it or make their bosses match.

I'd say Mullen's interest will be gauged this time around. Don't know if he would leave though.

It's not about the money. It's just not

Strong was fine with the money. The problem was job security and expectations.

1. He could win in the ACC. Expectations in Louisville, win 8-10 games a year and you could be governor.

2. Expectations at TN, if he were to come and not win the SEC in his first 3 years, he would be fired.

This is a fact and is the trouble we are facing with other candidates.

I'd rather have Mullen than some of the other names that are being thrown out there right now. I don't know that he would want to come here though, it seems like coaching at Tennessee is considered taboo right now.

Does TN have the money to pay up?
The net gain with the six million dollar academic gift rolled back would only be two million if the dept is losing four million a year.

He has SEC experience. He coached Tim Tebow. It would be a big upgrade for him. We wouldn't have to pay 6 million for him. I don't know of any reason why not. He looks like the best available to me, unless we can pull someone out of the NFL.
