about the #5 team (Final AP Poll) in the country being the 3 seed in their bracket?

We are insulted by the three seed. I bet they are totally po'd that a borderline 1 seed and one of the most hot teams in the country has been thrown into their bracket. Three of the AP top 6 are in the South!

If I’m an Arizona fan I’m thinking……man we got the shaft.

Huston……probably where they belong seed wise……maybe a spot higher because they did just win their tournament (which obviously was not factored in)…..but these guys are still 5th in ken Pom and 3rd in the NET……..on Arizona’s 5th seed.

They also got Illinois which hasn’t lived up to potential……but they “can” be really good. They have a great player, they’ve won 9 games on the road or at neutral sites……who knows but strong “potential.”

You also got Chattanooga……which is a very strong mid major

Yes sister Jean’s team is also looming…….and their good…..heck their 23rd in the NET and Ken Pom has them 24th.

Then you still have the number 5 and 6th ranked teams rounding it out.

Arizona as the second best team got put in a monster bracket.

All I can say is their 8-9 matchup doesn’t look like the Zags.

line them up. toss it up. who cares. got to play last one standing anyways. ive seen brackets where everyone says this lines up great for Tennessee to make the final four and Tennessee flames out to a Loyola Chicago. Or Oregon State. Tennessee has a history of flaming out in tournaments. They broke that mold this week. Tennessee is playing like a team finally.. The big men are finally playing good enough to be an issue.

My son went to Nova and he's NOT happy...basically 2 seed Nova has to play 2 seed Vols. Watched all of Nova recent games and they are playing just as well as they were when we played them early in the year...but, Vols are a different team now...don't think many teams want us in their bracket. I thought Vols would take Nova when we played them, but we got manhandled...good news is it's tough to beat any top tier team twice in a year.

I definitely wouldn’t be happy as a Villanova fan, but I would think at least some Arizona fans would relish the chance for some payback. Beating them again is going to be very tough. We probably shouldn’t have won that first match up, but we found a way.

I really hope that they are upset before the regional final. But worrying about them is WAY down the road. I’m not wanting to look beyond Longwood just yet. Sister Jean. Oregon State.

Villanova may have to face a team that's as good if not better than they are, will be playing w a chip on their shoulder, and have revenge factor. That's a lot going for Tennessee. Also, in that first game we had 18 turnovers to their 7. We're a changed team now.

Exactly.

In any event, as JJJ pointed out in one of his interviews, the Vols need to take it one possession at a time, hopefully for 6 more games. Focus on the here and now and not the future. Look past no one. Go Vols!

I’ve seen many people saying that Kerr Kriisa is probable to play in the first weekend but by the looks of this... there’s no way.

It's the NCAA Tournament. Everyone is good and all you can do is focus on the next opponent. We may keep winning and not even face one or both of Villanova or Arizona. This will be a wild tournament and I'm predicting fewer first round upsets and more second round upsets than usual.

Good point. It’s always good to look at things from others perspective.

Just need to when the first tournament this weekend and then we can worry about what we are looking at the following weekend. That being said the supposed committee is a joke.

If you are a Gonzaga do you really feel better playing Memphis in the round of 32 or Tennessee playin Michigan/Colorado State in the second round?

Ill take Tennessee's draw over anyone else's in the tournament. Here are the paths barring the seeding stays in tact which it won't but lets just say it does. Someone please tell me who has the easiest of the below paths. I think Tennessee is better than Nova on 3/15 and also we have beaten the 1 seed in our region once already. Ill take our road over anyone else's besides Kansas and I feel that is a pickem.

Gonzaga: round of 32 - Memphis then Arkansas then Duke to get to final 4

Tennessee: round of 32 - Michigan/ Colorado State then Villanova Then Arizona to go to the final 4

Arizona: round of 32 - Seton Hall/ TCU then Illinois/Houston Then Tennessee to go to the final 4

Baylor: round of 32 - UNC then UCLA Then UK/Purdue to go to the final 4

Kansas: SDSU Then Iowa/Providence Then Wisconsin/Auburn

There's been too much media and fan uproar over the seeding. TNs history in the NCAA shouldn't scare anyone. Time to change that like they did in the SECT.

I disagree. You can't disregard or dilute a team's performance because of things that happened in the past. It's not about "scaring" anyone, it's about being treated fairly based on what happens on the court.

Interesting question for sure. I was at the Tennessee/Arizona game in December and was surprised at the number of Arizona fans in attendance. Several of them around me said they hoped to see us again in the tourney. I think the prevailing sentiment was that we would not beat them again, and many thought the officiating against them was bad. I can only say be careful what you wish for because we are significantly better now than in December. Arizona does have the pieces to the puzzle and it would be another great game.
