So where do the VOLS land in the polls on Monday?

That is correct Texas was ranked 6th and it was the greatest basketball game I have every watched. My son and I was in Austin sitting mid court on the 4th row and from opening tip off to the buzzer we never stopped screaming. I heard Texas fans talk before the game how UT should not even be playing on the same court as the LongHorns but at the end the true Orange was the one that had the last laugh. I will never forget that day no matter how many games I attend. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got PICTURES! Give me a sec to get them off my phone... and forgive the quality, just a phone. The Vols won't be ranked. We were at about 28 to start the week, lost two games, granted one to #4 Memphis, then a win over #2 UF... MAYBE 20-25.

Call me crazy, I don't care if we're ranked. Doesn't matter that much in b-ball, unranked teams make the tournament. We're more likely to fly in under the radar with a lower ranking. Maybe I'm just jaded from football season, but a ranking will just put a bigger target on the backs of our overachieving VOLS, God love 'em...!

I see where you're coming from and I agree for the most part. Only thing is, being ranked can help out with recruiting. While it might put a target on our back for other teams, it also puts a target on our basketball program when recruits are thinking about coming here. After all these years, we need that target on the program.

Of course, making it to the tourney would do the same thing, so yeah....

I didn't know he had gone out there until I saw the little clip on SportsCenter.

"This is YOUR basketball team, I am YOUR basketball coach, and we are going to whoop some @$$!!!" -Coach Pearl to students camped out early at TBA on Saturday

Right now, CBSsportsline has us projected as a 4 seed in the NCAA Tourney. I know that doesn't mean much until we actually get there, but it's cool anyway.....

UT is the no. 2 team in the SEC right now, based on polls.
Really amazing considering UT was picked to finish last in the SEC this year with less talent then last years team that did finish last. Amazing turnaround.

After looking at strength of schedule and the other teams, I think UT rockets up to about 16 or 17 on Monday. They should have really been about 22 going into tomight with two close losses to very good Memphis and LSU teams. I guess we'll see.

Basically we were 26 in last weeks USA/ESPN/Coaches poll. There weren’t many of the bottom 10 (16-25) who had loses this week. We may knock someone out but the Okla. St. lose is still there. I think if we crack anything above 23 it would be surprising. We need a few more of those Quality wins in the SEC to have the nation’s coaches to believe in us.

Maybe, but they were still underrating us based on recent year's performances... the RPI has us at 3, and SOS at 8. Not saying we're one of the top ten teams in the country, but I'd put us in the top 20... of course, I'm still doubtful that the polls use the same locig as me, and I would be surprised to even get ranked.

I concur, he's the best thing to happen to Tennessee hoops since the late 70's.
