Looks like more than half of the 2016 team will be freshmen.

After leading Tennessee to the NCAA Super Regionals last season for the seventh time in program history, UT softball co-head coaches Ralph Weekly and Karen Weekly have once again assembled one of the nation's top recruiting classes. On Tuesday, Tennessee softball announced that nine outstanding student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Orange and White in the 2015-16 academic year.

That's a fine looking bunch of Lady Vols. That's right, Dave Hart, Lady Vols. Can't wait to see them in action.

Whoa: They just announced the signing of 9 players for the 2015 class. Now they have announced 3 more? Are we sure these last three are for 2015 and not 2016? If 2015, then UT would have 12 first-year players coming in next year.

Going to have a lot of speed and hitting this season. We will score a lot of runs let us hope our pitching can hold the other team to less than we score. Pitching is the concern this season.

Can't wait to see McClain, Aldrete, Ybarra, Geer, Gregg, and Koenig in the same line-up. Good Lord!

:salute: Here's to hoping we can be good enough to beat Alabama who seems to be in our way to win.

It is going to be hard for the coaches to keep all these talented freshmen happy. Signed 12, six in the top 100 recruits and the other six with extremely impressive credentials as well--and of course got at least four good, young players coming back from last year. I can see 5 first-year players starting, potentially, maybe even six if somebody beats out a starter from last year, but then you've got half a dozen other good players who will want action and not be happy sitting on the bench. You can perhaps platoon a couple of them--but its going to be tricky for the Weeklys. There looks to be a ton of young talent-and they've certainly addressed the pitching as well. Lots of competition.

See Kentucky (mens) basketball -

Basketball is a game of constant running; players get tired and so there are frequent substitutions. There is no real need to sub players in softball/baseball unless it's late in the game. I mean, you can play one player for a few innings and then sub her out, but is that done much in softball? I didn't think so--and it's certainly not done in baseball.

Dave Serrano will start a reliever for 2-3 innings...
