More than that, look at the other teams in UT's regional. GA Tech is at 19 and OK St is 22. Brutal. You're supposed to have one other top 32 team in your region, yet they send two top 22 teams. The committee tries to factor in traveling distance, so I get GA Tech. But OK St?

So 1 series in the entire season determines where a team is seeded for a tourney that encompasses the entire year.

That committee should go to seeding class. Number 5 team getting a 14 seed, makes a ton of sense.

Yeah. That little SEC Tournament combined with the rest of the season should be ignored in favor of one bad weekend on the road....

Seven teams for the SEC, that tells you something about how tough this conference was this year. The girls need a little motivation at this time of the year and with this smack across the lips (14th seed), I am sure that will get their competitive juices flowing for a run at the National title.

And the fact that Georgia was swept by Tennessee in three games (two AT Georgia), one very recently, earned them the sixth seed, right?
I don't know why, on a Tennessee fan board, so many folks are eager to give credence to this seeding. It is not based on any logic or fairness.

Here's the problem with that. Motivation won't overcome fatigue in playing extra games because of your seeding. They've already played 57 games. Pitching suffers with extra games. I hope I'm wrong and they run the table all the way to the World Series.

Georgia can even use it as a recruiting tool. Like... if you go to Georgia, you can lose and still make the world series as a sixth seed.....whereas, at Tennessee, they just don't have the rep to get seeding, even if they swept Georgia, have a better record and are ranked higher. If you want exposure, don't go to those schools with no juice.

Georgia needs all the help they can get recruiting against the Weekleys. They are the best recruiters in softball right nOw.
