During WW2, all letters home went through a censor, to maintain operational security. The media actually cared for the troops then, and didn't report anything that could be considered ANY help to the enemy. Of course, thats before the ACLU became the moral police, and back before Democrats grew manginas to replace their testicles.

Now, the media pays no attention to atrocities commited by our enemies, but it's breaking news should a bomb or shell kill a civilian. Collateral damage sucks, but it's a part of war.
