ZOLMAN'S MRI ON KNEE COMES BACK NEGATIVE

Junior guard hurt her knee against Georgia

Feb. 1, 2005

KNOXVILLE, TENN. --- Jenny Moshak, University of Tennessee Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, announced this afternoon that Lady Vol basketball junior Shanna Zolman's knee is okay.

"Shanna hurt her right knee late in the game with Georgia last night and Dr. William T. Youmans evaluated it again today," said Moshak. "An MRI was performed and the results came back negative.

Zolman, a 5'9" junior guard and part-time starter for the #5-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols, is averaging 9.9 ppg and 2.8 rpg.

"We'll treat her knee symptomatically and resume activity as tolerated," said Moshak. "I think she should be a 'go' for the Florida game."

Tennessee, 16-3 and 6-0 SEC, travel to Gainesville, Fla., for a 7:00 p.m. meeting on Feb. 3 with the Florida Gators (12-8, 3-4 SEC).

Whew! I saw her limping around near the end of the game and was wondering if it was an ankle injury, but looks to be all good.
