Like it or not, he is speaking the truth. I really grew up with little excitement about UT basketball, and since Coach Pearl arrived, he has provided a level of success and excitement that I had never had before, so I love Coach Pearl and what he has brought to UT basketball...but, we should all look at the LK experience and realize that we can't sacrifice integrity, responsibility and accountability for the sake of success, if you can really consider what we have right now as success. How do you look at us and cry and beg for forgiveness and say you have learned your lesson, and 4 days later, knowingly commit another foul? I dont understand that, and I don't appreciate that, and IMO, for that, he should hold the door open for MH and then follow him out. I would say the same thing and feel the same way if it involved CDD or even CPS, it should be unacceptable. I am not trying to sound "holier than thou" and never claimed myself to be perfect and without flaw, but I am man enough to know when I make a mistake, I don't turn right around and knowingly make the same decision. It not only spits in the eye of the NCAA, the SEC, but most of all, in the eye of us, the fans and supporters. Thats just how I feel about it.

What i am interested in is why our compliance dept. deemed this not a violation. Appears that we are missing some pieces of this story.

Those 4 days turned me against Pearl. Up until that point, I was prepared to give him another chance. Lying once is a mistake, lying after the apology and everything else...that is inexcusable.

When did he lie after the apology?

The letter said on or about the 14th so they are not sure. If memory serves me correct there was a thread on Volnation ripping Pearl for going to New Jersey the
day after the news conference. I will check to be sure.

Im not debating the contact with the recruit. Just wondering why our compliance dept said it wasnt a violation (per gvx article) but the ncaa deemed it to be one. Maybe our compliance need to get their heads out too

The NCAA gets allegations all the time. Patrick Sellars of
UConn was charged with unethical conduct and was cleared. A lot of people on these boards will post anything as fact so long as it puts Pearl in a bad light. Pearl was nuts to have lied about a secondary violation to begin with, but, that ship has done sailed. When the
NCAA tells us the punishment stage of the investigation we will know what really happened.

Okay so perhaps this was not a violation at all is what i assume u are saying. The reason i questioned this is because this seems to be the point were most now want him gone.
