I think it's freakin' hilarious. I don't think we were in his last couple of favorites - which makes it atleast somewhat funny.

he couldnt qualify for the SEC or he would have went to LSU.He had to go to USM so he could avoid JUCO or Prep school.

somebody probably BS'd him into thinking this would be an opportunity to be a big fish in a small pond. once the stadium lights of the nation come on, he will probably regret it.

Well, I think i would rather play 4 years at S.Miss than 2 years at LSU. Who knows he might get extra attention for choosing the smaller school.

Yeah, those small schools in Mississippi. What is a guy like Jerry Rice supposed to do? I bet he would have played in the NFL if he played with a big school.

Off subject here.....But, wonder why in the world SO-Miss fired their head coach.

That was the move that suprised me the most.

i thought he retired..of course it could have been one of those behind the scenes resignations...but to all my knowledge im pretty sure he just retired...he was like the fourth or fifth longest tentured coach at his school when he retired

No, he got canned! He might have retired, but it wasn't by choice.

o i must have missed that i could have sworn he retired on his own terms...but i guess u the got the randy sanders treatment...southern miss had been down some from the past couple of yrs...but bowers always seemed to have a very tough team to play against

Southern Miss isn't a pushover!

He will probally be able to start right away as a freshman at a semi-decent program.

Like people said before, if he is REALLY that good he will collect a check from an NFL owner.

Heck! Terrell Owens went to UT-Chattanooga!

I was stunned when I saw DeAndre Brown committed to Southern Miss. What was he thinking?!?

Southern Miss is where he felt he could get early PT. His presence will not be felt by us because he is not in the SEC.

Why don't we offer him then he could go juco like everyone else we've signed in the last two years.
