Less than 3 weeks after sustaining a nasty break of her third metacarpal bone and surgery to repair it.... and 1 week into therapy.... she is gripping a bat and working hard at therapy....

She needs a little help from her friends!

Determination..........she's got it. Go time is more up to her than it is the doctors. I remember when Bernard King tore his ACL and at that time, the doctor's said he would never play again. History shows different.

Wish we'd have had the technology we do now though. He already has a legit argument as the best pure scorer ever. If he plays a full NBA career, its probably not even a debate.

She will be working with the trainer in the cages and playing catch... testing what she can and can't do.... if things go well, she should practice with the team later....

from TOS

Davin Update: Melissa Davin held a bat Monday and took a few swings off a tee for the first time since breaking her hand at Missouri on the final weekend of the regular season.

She will at least be available as a pinch-runner, said co-head coach Karen Weekly.

“Which will help,’’ Weekly said. “We’ve been short-handed for people to come in and run off the bench and Melissa has pretty good wheels.

“We’ve have to go day by day with her grip strength.’’

Keep trying MD, you never know, games could be set back because of weather, buying more time. BTW has MD ever pitched before ? ( like in HS or summer leagues?) Could that be an option ? In case of being short on pitching (Still havent heard anything on the blister Ivy had)

I guess her blister isnt as bad -- just a bit worried since MLB pitchers go on the DL sometimes and those last 2 pitches she threw looked really painful.
