During all the pre-season talk there was a whole lot of noise about how big the bama OL was. They are the biggest in all of football. They will just mash the DL and dominate the LOS. My whole thought was that speed neutralizes size. Would the walking man/monsters be able to move fast enough to stay in front of the DL. Now I think we know. Our DL is very quick and very fast. They could make life miserable for Alabama this year. Best of all is that the DL is practically immune to crowd noise so playing on the road is not an issue for them. If we get pressure like Texas did, we could walk out with a win this year. (and start a new streak).

When they are big and quick, that's a problem, I think Texas showed us they are just big.

Every time the narrative around a player (or position group) focuses excessively on some singular physical trait (size, speed, strength, etc.), my assumption is that's all they've got and they're lacking in other departments.

I once said that Alabama didn't need a great QB because Sabin has won with QB's that are facilitators. One that runs the offense with no mistakes, makes the correct reads, and can hit the short dump passes. Well, apparently Milrow? has been replaced with Buckner. He's the system QB that will run the offense. I look for them to be more straight ahead power football now. Sabin has gone back to what he knows best. I actually think they may be more dangerous now. Then again, it could all fall apart for them (and I would be quite happy).

That was supposed to be the playbook from the beginning of the year.

They also have a true freshman starting at left tackle. I know Proctor is Jonathan Odgen and Bakhtiari combined according to the pundits, but he got abused a couple plays against Texas just during the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Except Buckner sucks. He’s not a facilitator. Bama gonna be wishing for Graham Mertz in a couple of weeks, and we’re about to make him look like the worst uf qb in 30 years. I also expect Tommy Rees to leave Bama after the season. He sucks too.

This sounds like a good thing.
