I think it would be awesome if we had a thread around here where someone criticized something Obama did without some progressive jumping in and saying 'oh yeah, but look what Bush did.' or vice versa. Is it possible that Bush did something wrong and it does not matter at all what Obama did? Can we not discuss the pros or cons of what Obama is doing without resorting to a 'Bush was worse' argument? That doesn't prove that what Obama did was good, it just proves they both suck. That is such a kindergarten excuse. You got in trouble for throwing rocks and your mom said you were gonna get spanked, did you try to say, 'but billy threw them too'? That is the equivalent to half the arguments on here. Yes, some people are hypocrites. I think that has been proven quite successfully. Can we now discuss the issues?

Ok. So maybe that was a little uncalled for. I've had a really bad day at the end of a really bad week at work. I don't mean to take it out on people here. Just too many childish people at work and I can't yell at them.

Yes, you are ok. The idea is not that it is wrong to criticize. I just hate the whole candidate X is doing Y, then someone countering with oh yeah, well A did B! I just wish we could argue about the issues without it becoming a childhood level argument. Yes, Bush did terrible things, but how does that excuse what Obama does? Or vice versa. Can't we talk about how bad Bush sucked without some apologist bringing up Obama? Finger pointing instead of real rational discussion. Oh well...
