Something to ponder

Almost every point hammers to the wall the idea that this administration is about nothing more than political expediency. There doesn't seem to be one sound thinker in the bunch, at least as far as long term financial health is concerned.

There is always a danger in short term fixes for really bad situations having horrendous long term repercussions, but this crowd seems OK with it as long as guys like union shills and slugs are happy.

BP, that right there is one of the most underappreciated facts in all the world. I don't just mean politically either.

The short term situation actually made the Obamas' disastrous programs even remotely passable in this country. 3 years ago he would have been laughed out of DC, only to be re-elected as senator by the idiots in Chicago.

The sad thing is he has now brought Chicago style politics to Washington. IIRC there were more than a couple of people in this very forum who tried to tell us this was going to happen.

Where are the "he's going to rule from the center" posters? I have to admit that BO's policies are far worse than I ever imagined.

IIRC, Bill Kristol even said on election night that he thought Obama would rule from the center.

I guess the left is redefining where the center is.

Am I correct in assuming that's saying a lot?

If I follow what you are asking then I'd say yes. I thought he would have a few pet areas to mold but would generally approach the economy more like Clinton (especially given the number of Clintonites on his staff). I never dreamed he'd so aggressively change the role of government with regard to the economy.

I guess I was naive.

as soon as he mentioned bottom up economics, I knew full well that we were in trouble. That's something, hyperbole aside, that I'd expect to read from Marx.
