Does anyone remember when UT athletes went around to small towns in Tennessee and played basketball? All non basketball athletes. Mostly football players.
I do. I remember football players coming to Wartburg, of all places, and playing against the high school team. One of the football players playing that night..... Phil Fulmer.

Certainly remember those days. Played against one of those teams at Cumberland Homestead gym. Memories include John Boynton was huge ( tall and wide). Guarded Dewey Warren and luckily got a block on his jump shot. He retrieved the block and hit a shot while falling out of bounds( would have been a three pointer in today’s game). Those players were very gracious to fans and were competitive to the maximum. Thanks for the great memories!

You are being modest, @Benionsopinion . Wish I'd seen that exhibition. Well, how about a photo of Ron Slay in action. He was a crowd-pleaser then & still brings it.

I do. I remember watching Bobby Majors play at FCHS once. He walked into the gym in bell bottom striped pants with a long, thin overcoat or sweater that hung down to his knees. (early 70's style)

I remember when one of those football player teams beat the crap out of my friends and I in intramural basketball. It was super fun to play them. We actually hung with them somewhat in the first half but the second half was a thorough beating.
