Soooooo Peterman........

I hope Dobbs remains the starter unless Worley is ready to go. Even though he made some freshman mistake, by and large, his play was pretty solid for a first time starter on the road against a Top 10 team during a prime time tilt. To start Peterman now would only fracutre what little confidence JD has gained over his only six quarters of college football. If Worley was someone 100% healthy then I would see where that might be an acceptable reason to supplant Dobbs from the starting lineup. Maybe the return of Peterman will enable Coach Jake and Butch to open up the option game for Dobbs since there will be a healthy QB waiting in the wings should he go down with an injury. Either way it's good to see that NP is healthy again and is ready to help contribute if he is needed.

Dobbs is better than Worley even when Worley's healthy. Simply a better athlete and will only get better. He needs to be our starter!

Backup. We already burned the redshirt and we need to save Ferg's. We ride with Dobbs. This early game experience is invaluable to his future here.

Good lord you people are like two year old kids. WTF have we got to choose right now?

*Fact: Worley won the first significant game in a long time at UT.
*Fact: We are stuck with Dobbs as the QB right now likely for the remainder of regular season minimum.
*Fact: Dobbs showed some flashes of greatness and some utter inexperience with some terrible decisions like most true freshman QBs with potential.

Now can we quit tearing one or the other down and support both since it just makes sense given the situation?

Peterman deserves another shot. Not against Auburn but maybe if we are up on Kentucky big.

Either he can start or he can't. Do we pick starting QB's for certain opponents? Choose starters based upon a preseason fantasy draft? JK. I get your point.

If Peterman even gets a whiff of the grass on the field, then Butch ought to be fired on the spot !

Posts like this make me wonder if there's crystal meth in the water somewhere.

1) Anyone should rather see him as the backup rather than burn another redshirt off both our Frosh.
2) He played for one half. It was a bummer of a half, yes. But, to think that is is as bad as what happened that one half is silly. (reminder: in the Swamp for his first start ever as a collegiate QB) Stuff like that tend to be anomalies. If, for example, we played him for 2 straight games, and every drive was similar to the few we saw him in at UF, then OK. He would clearly need more work.

Personally, I'm glad to have him as the backup over Ferguson, cause something tells me Ferguson is pretty decent, and we're going to want to keep his redshirt.

Good to have him back. He's a Vol and by all accounts a good teammate and part of our future. Don't like to see any of these kids miss times to injuries.

FTR, I think Dobbs has done nothing to show that he should not be declared the starter for AU right now. Worley is hurt, we need to try to protect Ferguson's redshirt, and we need depth. It wil lbe nice knowing Peterman will get a shot if Dobbs is injured or ineffective. Who knows, Ol' Butch Stones might just decide to put packages in for both players and sub out 2 QBs to keep the D on their heels. I don't think he will, because of our team's fragile mental state and poor ability to deal with adjustments, but I think he might be tempted.

So if this week's depth chart is 1) Dobbs, 2) Ferguson (but not really, if Peterman is actually healthy), 3) Peterman (the actual backup), then I think we're not in bad shape. I relaize they won't bump Ferguson below Peterman on the DC right now, but there is no way they toast his shirt if Peterman can execute a simple handoff.

That screen shot is obviously FAKE. No one has 95% battery left in the afternoon! Ha j/k

I would like to see him when he's healthy and doesn't have defenders right in his face the whole time. UF game was the worst possible situation. He may totally suck but I would love to see him get another shot provided it means we are destroying someone.

I totally get this point of view. I have felt the same way. However, it's hard for me to ignore what Dobbs did on the raod against Bama and then on the road at Mizzou. He's played so much better than Peterman did on the road at UF (who was MUCH better then than they are now, due to injuries). So I think we kind of need to back off the road game at UF excuse a bit and consider that Peterman, who no doubt has a ton of potential, just wasn't ready to be in the game yet.

I thought Dobbs had a pretty good gm. If Worley would learn how to keep the ball on the read opition he would be a lot better. I don't think we have heard
The last of Worley.

South Carolina and Mizzou want you to know you're wrong

Alabama,Oregon, and Georgia might think I'm right. Dobbs had two Touchdowns dropped when the game was in the balance. The kid simply has more up side. He's looked better in two games than Worley has through six...all things considered.

Dobbs is the future point blank and period.Peterman is a (RS) freshman and still looks bad out there. If Dobbs had come in last year as a redshirt with the same amount of college time Peterman has had Worley wouldn't have seen the field this year. Your starting QB for the next 4 years is Josh Dobbs.

Oh I'm not saying get him in at a meaningful time. I'm hoping we get him some reps in trash time to at least have someone as a backup if we should need him. Others are banged up and Ferguson doesn't need to burn his red shirt.

Honestly our O-line will make any of our QBs look bad. Tiny should be benched immediately, unless there was just some basic, correctable miscommunication with Dobbs at the line before the ball is snapped. Hopefully this week they will work out the kinks. Auburn 31, Tennessee 10.

You're right, our o-line does suck. Your prognostic skills on the other hand suck.
