Do you not understand that the Raiders do not give a turd what happens this season? They are in suck for Luck mode. Gruden will probably win a superbowl with Tua under center. I'm glad we beat Kensucky but we are several years from even being able to beat UGA, much less Bama. Gruden would have had 5* prospects falling over themselves to commit here.

Yep. Just goes to show you that talking the talk doesn't always equate to walking the walk, although with time who knows. I never thought he was da man, not that my opinion matters.

When a football player is leaving the locker room, is surrounded by reporters, and is heard saying: I gotta get the eff outta here" the reporters conclusion is he was talking about the raiders team... Instead of wanting to get out, away from the locker room and reporters?

Raiders are getting trashed this season, I still think Gruden is a good coach, and they are headed to Vegas next year. No where to go but up next season, those first round picks won't hurt either.

So you're saying the Raiders changed their motto to, "Just lose this year baby!!!"

Sometimes I forget that most of my fellow Tennesseans deserve the dumass hillbilly perception that the educated world bestows upon us.

We are not several from beating UGA. Smart is not a great coach. Letting that team get demolished by LSU tells us that.

I guess you're too dumb to follow recruiting to see what we could have coming to us for this next season. If you ever thought Gruden was seriously coming here, you may be the dumb hillbilly. We got mocked for how some idiots acted with the Gruden stuff. That's dumb hillbilly material.

Gruden is playing the long game. He's playing for 2020 or 2021 and thereafter. He's got 5 first rounders in the next two drafts. He'd rather do better now but he really just wants to do better later. Her signed a ten year contract, not a four year. He wants to make a name for himself. Her came back to be a legend. Time will tell.

So whats the excuse for ever year after 2002 in Tampa?

Gruden isn't a good coach. He hasn't been a good coach in 15 years. Jeff Fisher was a good coach more recently than Jon Gruden has been.

Gruden is a washed up has been that would have drove this program even further in to the ground than it already was.

This is possibly true. Time will tell. As a Chiefs fan, I hope you're right :) but Gruden is back to make a name for himself, to show that he is a good coach and can be mentioned in the same sentence as the greats - the Lombardis, the Shulas, the Landrys. He cares about the legacy and the money. And he obviously loves football. Does he have the coaching 'itch?' the I-have-to-coach-football-or-I'll-go-crazy drive? I don't think so. And I don't think this whole 10-year, hundred-million-dollar, trade-good-players-for-draft-picks-and-build-your-own-team-experiment is going to work. But I think it will be fun to watch and see. Further, I think Reggie McKenzie is on his way out (Would be great to see him go win in Tampa Bay.) and Gruden will take over GM or else hire a puppet.

Lol. Dumb excuse. You dont trade one of if not the best defensive players in the league in hopes that you get one in the draft. Oh and then after trading said player, Gruden comes out and says they need to find a pass rush. Then you trade your 24 yr old best WR. The game has passed him by.

You dont pay a washed up coach 10 million a year to wait 3-4 years to rebuild. He is a huge bust and is overrated. So glad he didnt come to TN.

It's not an excuse and it's not dumb.

I'm not trying to defend the guy. Just explaining him. That's what he's doing. I don't think it's a good plan. It's arrogant. I'm glad he's not in Tennessee too. But his plan is to amass a young team over the next few years and establish a dynasty.
