sorry espn that UT almost ruined your script.
why oh why did Kansas need to win and need to win at home to get past the chair thing. we really didn't need to watch the KU students put on a show for Gameday. nor did we the need sellout signs or the constant updates on the uzi plus and minuses.
Kansas has a boatload of talent but that didn't fit your story line of a wounded team that badly needed redemption..
And the interview with peyton went on too long, coming at a critical point in the game. It struck me as a ploy to please Vol fans who ESPN seems to think are football crazy. Breaking into a good basketball to promote the network and one of its employees just grates on me. Every network does it but i'm baffled by the timing of these staged interviews.

think i'm movin on to an A10 game to chill out ( tongue in cheek).

Kansas has a boatload of talent but that doesn't count.
bet the too-long peyton and holly thing was a nod to a phony was offering to vol fans that mickey still loves them but.it came as critical time in the contest.

think i'm movin on to an A10 game and chill out. if I want to rant, ill go to this morning's jayhawker thread
I think I understand your point, but you lost me a bit in this part...

When you stop depending on sports media to make you feel good as a fan your life will improve dramatically

Taken a step further: when you stop depending on the successes and failures of sports teams to make you feel good your fan life will improve even more dramatically. Rather than watch the game I chose going to the movies. Decidedly more pleasant afternoon.

To each his own but...I’ll take B-ball any day

I understand your point even if I disagree with it but.... you’re on a sports board dude...

Why are you on VN, if that's the way you feel?

Thanks for the helpful hint. Fans hang out on sports boards; alcoholics hang out in bars.

Suffering mentally every time Tennessee loses is not a prerequisite to posting on VN. Give it a try sometime. It's called 'growing up" by some.

No, I get more pleasure visiting my grandkids, reading a good book or discovering a good band
Just a longtime sports fan weary of the preaching and instant analysis we get on television. I was stuck at home recovering from surgery and felt thatt ESPN went a bit overboard in support of a blueblood that one commentator said deserved a good showing at home to get past an ugly incident days ago.

Kansas was ranked #3 and we are unranked. What were they supposed to say? If we were as good as we were last year, the narrative from ESPN would have been much different. Jay Bilas does a good job in his analysis of our team

Glad it works for you, but to each their own. Personally, I’ve never seen a movie that beats a Vol victory. On the other hand, I’d rather watch Mr Rogers than the losses. You pay your money and take your chances.

I was not talking about Vol victories, I was talking about defeats. Winning is fine. Losing is when some fans get tested emotionally. The movie I saw Saturday was much better than the loss I (and every one on this board) knew was coming. Come to think of it, the movie (1917) was better than some victories I have seen in the past.
