Looks like McNair is probably headed to Baltimore. I alway liked McNair. He was one tough SOB.

So will it be Volek next year or will they rush Young along?

This reads to me as though the Titans and Ravens still need to reach agreement on compensation. Last I knew, they were reportedly nowhere close on that. I think it's still a "wait and see"...

As to Volek, he stuck around when he could've gone elsewhere and I believe has earned the right to prove he can be the starter....

yeah, and based on what i heard on ESPn the other night, i would expect the Titans, barring any new news of a trade, to hold on to him until the very last minute...they do not want to give another AFC team any more time than they have absolutely possible to learn a new offensive syste, plays etc.....so, i'd look for him to get released entirely right before training camp.....

Wasn't the Ravens coach the offensive coordinator at the Vikings when they were leading the league in offense?

I've always wondered why the Ravens have had the least inventive and productive offense if the above is true.

I've always wanted to see what Volek could do when got the whole offseason and preseason to work with the first team the whole team getting the majority of the reps. He's performed pretty well whenever he's been thrown in there.

I was hoping Steve could stay and help to bring Young along.I wonder how well Volek would do if he is giving the chance.I personally think if McNair leaves, Volek should get a fair shake.

McNair had no desire whatsoever to tutor Young.

There is talk that the Titans may sign Kerry Collins.
Do the Titans really have that kind of cap room, to have Young, Volek AND Collins? I doubt it.

They must be viewing it like if they got Collins, he'd just be their second QB at this point.

After using a 1st round pick on him, they need to be lined up and shot if they even think about it.

I think McNair should be happy to tutor Young, provided he stays.McNair was tutored. :dunno:

I'm not Titans expert, but I'd say this has zero to do with McNair's willingness to tutor. It's a cap decision.

Yeah, and like the Titans don't need help at other positions. YOU DON'T NEED 3 QB's.
don't need 3 QB's, you don't remember what happened to Schaeffer, then Ainge, and needed CLausen to complete the season in 2004.

The thing is though, once you get to the 3rd QB in the NFL, your season is shot anyway, so no need to overspend.
