Volman Dan - one thing that comes to mind is that since this game is a New Years Eve game, there may not be much competition with other bowl games going one at the same time. I think that the Chick Fil A Bowl is the main bowl that day, as opposed to being in the Outback Bowl the next day going up against the Capital One, Sugar and Rose Bowl. Still, it used to always seem like your season was better if you were in a New Years Day bowl.

I think it is great for recruiting. Better time slot, more people will watch. Higher profile opponent. Honestly who wants to watch UT-Wisconsin, hungover, early in the morning except fans of the school. Plus the Atlanta area is one of our prime recruiting area's.

eh..nice opinion but not necessarily correct. Florida would have provided a much better recruiting game than Atlanta.

The Georgia Dome still sucks.

Maybe being in the area, but not many kids would watch. Definitely the Tampa area is fertile grounds but Atlanta is a nice option as well. I am not sure that the bowl location makes a huge impact anyway on recruiting, maybe for future recruits.
