Any player with health conditions should opt-out. Too big of a risk. One of the most prominent symptoms in young people is blood clots which could impact the rest of your life.

More will follow and I honestly can’t blame the kids. The dominoes are starting to fall. I will be shocked if we make it to our third game.
You can't blame them? A virus that is seldom worse than a cold or the flu for people their age... and is very often not accompanied with symptoms at all... and you can't blame them?

If they opt out for this... then cancel football forever. They have ALWAYS been at more risk from the common flu in that age group.

Yep, if the acceptable threshold is zero new cases, let's just all drink some special koolaid and call it a day for humanity.

You don’t understand games will be canceled like in baseball when multiple players test positive even if the players don’t get sick. The season won’t make it to mid October. There is no way to effectively social distance in football this season will be a wash a write off just accept it. More players are going to sit out the year.

The science says if it's too dangerous to play this season, it's too dangerous to ever play.

That may be true... and it is still STUPID for a whole host of reasons... starting with the fact that almost no one in this age group has symptoms worse than a cold or the flu with a significant % if not the majority having NO SYMPTOMS AT ALL.

The other really "stupid" thing about this... is that the virus runs a 6 to 8 week cycle wherever it breaks out. NYC for a number of interesting social and political reasons had the worst outbreak in the world. Then their curves took a nose dive after about 6 or 8 weeks. Same pattern all over the world. Where the US screwed up is the shutdowns. They were not necessary and have had the effect of extending the virus.

People have bought into the fantasy that people don't die and that life can be made risk free.

The only way to eliminate risk to the degree these people implicitly demand... is to restrict life to a joyless, impoverished subsistence.

Nope... I still don't blame them.

Football as we know is on its way out. I fully expect it to be compared to the gladiators, declared a 'hate sport' and banned by the progressive nut jobs when they eventually take control......
Actually I am waiting on the non-NFL EX-players to sue the NCAA and individual universities for CTE. That will be the financial ruin of college football. The players who went on to the pros are addressing the issue now. In the future we will see the other 95 percent of the players take up litigation.i believe that is when you will see the schools say this is not worth it and try getting out of the sports business.

Sadly I can see this happening in my lifetime

I wonder who our first player will be? Feel like it's only a matter of time.
