Even in the game they lost, they touched up Pete Hansen for 5 earned runs in 6 innings. Granted, the ump may not have been giving Hansen a strike zone that extended into the opposite batter’s box like he got against Tennessee. Still, it looks like South Carolina is playing well and will be a very tough out for Tennessee’s opening SEC series this weekend.

Texas lost their Sunday starter for the season last week (tommy john). It will likely take a little time to fill that void and is probably a blow to the team's momentum they've been building. I agree, we can't overlook South Carolina, but they caught Texas at an opportunistic time.

And the weather was advantage SC.

Texans don't like cold weather.
