South Panola, who is ranked #1 by Rivals got their revenge on MUS tonight 45-2, ending the Owls 28 game win streak. South Panola was as good as advertised, having returned 18 kids from last years State Championship squad. MUS was not as bad as the score indicated, but after graduating a lot of seniors and being thin on defense due to injuries, they were simply out sized and out matched.

South Panola:
Nickalos Brassell - SR - ATH - Rivals 4* & #6 Ath - After watching this kid play tonight, I understand completely why is is so coveted. He dazzled tonight on offense and defense. Did not get a real opportunity to show his skills in the return game. The kid has speed, speed, and more speed. Assuming that he qualifies (given Panola's history) the biggest issue with this kid would be where to play him, because he could excel on wither side of the ball.
Qyendarius Griffin - SR - RB - Not ranked by Rivals - How the hell is a kid of this caliber at a school like SP not ranked by Rivals? In fact, Rivals lists him as a LB. Through 3 games this kid has something like 700 yards. MUS was undersized on defense, but I really dont think it mattered after what he did to Colquitt County (GA) last week. He was listed at 6'0 215, but he looked a little heavier. Good speed, but not great. Tough runner that has killer stiff arm. I think it would be scary to see this kid in a D1 weight room.
Kendrick Market - SR - DB - Rivals 3* and #31 Safety - Sp whole defensive secondary was tough . Did not get that good a read on this kid. He showed D1 speed on offense.
MUS:
Ben Still - JR - OL - This kid lived up to the billing. As big as a team as SP was, they tried to line up away from this kid (played center) as much as possible. Panola used a pretty solid nose tackle at times against him and Still handled him. He is the headliner of a very talented MUS that held their own against SP tonight. Their rushing yards stunk, but there comes a limit on how many kids the OL can block when SP stacked the box.
Toby Baker - JR - QB/P - The kid had a rough night as a QB, but he was a bright spot as a punter. We are set at punter it seems, but this kid is two years out so who knows. Great hang time on each of his kicks, and he was averaging somewhere around 45-50 yds a kick tonight. He neutralized Brassell in the return game.
Henry Dickinson - SR - LB - unranked on Rivals - Offer from Illinois - At 6'4 , this kid has the frame to put on more weight for the LB position. Solid LB. Not sure if this kid is an SEC caliber LB, but he is Division 1 caliber for sure. Vandy could be an SEC school that would take a chance on him though. They have taken a couple of MUS LB's in the past 5 years.
