We were driving our friends to the Tampa Airport tonight for their flight back to Boulder CO.
I was admiring the moon as it was 94% illuminated when I noticed a light very near the moon.
At first, I thought it was a plane but it was not moving as a plane would.
It had a reddish glow and I saw something break away from it.
I Googled to see if there were any launches from Cape Canaveral and saw that it was a secret SpaceX Falcon Heavy Rocket launch.

I took this picture almost 6 years ago today, on my way to a casino. Had no idea it was a SpaceX launch in another state, but we were bewildered by it for a few minutes until we figured out what it was. We were calling it out to people in the casino parking lot and it was like they didn't want to acknowledge something they couldn't explain. They just wanted to ignore it and shuffle in to do their slots. It was wild.

It was a fantastic launch last night for the Falcon Heavy. Great view of separation and the center booster entering the atmosphere. There was another launch at 11pm last night as well. A double up day for Space X. I'm only 13 miles from the launch pads, so the sound and sights are awesome.
