Speaking of classless fans...

You would think people who live so close to where the World Trade Center used to be would be more respectful of our guys training to defend our country. I guess not.

Deplorable. I am not exactly a nationalist, but you'd think even the most idiotic, jingoistic lout would get it through his head that you HAVE to behave respectfully towards the guys in the service academies. They're different from everybody else playing college football.

The sad thing is that if 9/11 were to happen today, these would be the same guys shouting to glass over the Middle East, kill em all and let God sort em out, USA USA. And then they'd go to a game and chant "fsck you, Navy" at the same guys that were going to go and fight on their behalf. I don't know which amazes me more, human stupidty or the fact that it continues to amaze me.

These idiots are new to college football. They don't understand the culture or I'm going to guess half of what is going down on the field.

Screw them, keep letting them make a mockery of themselves.

i would think that the more jingoistic of fans would be the last ones you would have to worry about being disrepectful.

other than that, i agree with your post in its entirety

Hm. Definitely a poorly worded post; I think I was probably thinking ahead to the incongruity of the jingoistic, kill-em-all types booing the servicemen, and stuck that adjective in way too early where it made no sense.

I guess the Rutgers fans are probably all Jets fans, too. No wonder.

Talk about class! It's been a rough week for the reputation of the fans and teams in the Northeast.

Not that any of the venom they've gotten from fans elsewhere is undeserved, of course, Being, for the most part, a lifelong resident of the area i have learned that 95% of the fans have no knowledge of the game itself, and couldn't care less about the team unless they are winning, in which case they walk around every day in Jerseys thumping their chests as "long time fans". 1 losing season later, they are back in the cave they crawled out from.
