The only reason I care is because I have a high pick on this year's pool and I want to make damn sure they have the means to deliver.

So Milo, who will be better, Oregon or USC?

I really have no idea this season. I think they are neck and neck but I will give the edge to SC since they meet in Los Angeles late in the season. But they will also play there again for the Pac-12 championship, and when you have championship rematch games, who knows what can happen.

Agreed....kind of hard to go against USC's QB....probabaly go Oklahoma if not for the same reason. Two years ago, I managed to get both Oregon and Auburn. Good times.

I was up in Eugene last year. Oregon is pretty neat. Nice people who liked my accent and by golly, they'll pump your gas for you!

Hah, and they freak out if you try to pump your own gas. I suppose a couple cents a gallon extra is worth giving somebody a job.

USC is better than Oregon this season. Oregon loses 2 of their most productive players, Darren Thomas, and LeMichael James.

USC brings back ALL of their weapons and with edition Silas Redd, they will win the PAC12.

Oregon has better depth than USC does, but USC has more talent.

I think you also have to give the devil his due. Kiffin is a pretty good coach and a great motivator. If the two picks in front go LSU and OK, I'm going for USC just because I think a high percentage of the head to heads between USC and the Ducks goes to the Trojans. Pure business though, I like Oregon's program.

So the next question....does Arkansas have a chance in the West?

The way this works is we pick 1,2,3, 4, ad nauseam through 10 and then reverse the order..so I have pick #3 but then picks 18 and 23. So I'm looking for a school that's flying under the radar. Ark, Mich St, Neb, USF all fall in that grouping (initial rankings from 17 to 25). Basic points come from week to week AP rank but extra points for BCS bowl appearance and conf. champs. Neb would be my first choice but they probably will be gone. Probably Mich St or USF would be next on my list

What worries me about all of those:

- Nebraska: Probably the best of the bunch but definitely in a crowded division with Michigan, Michigan State and Iowa. Michigan is the only one of those three they get at home, plus they play Wisconsin and at Ohio State.

- Michigan State: Again, crowded division. They also get Ohio State and Wisconsin cross division, and a OOC slate that includes Notre Dame and Boise State. Not an enviable schedule.

- USF: Most intriguing to me since they could win their conference, but it's not that easy of a call, and their OOC includes FSU, @Miami and @Nevada

Arkansas is definitely a candidate to win ten games, but even with Bama and LSU at home I would be stunned if they won the west.

What I would like is someone that can get into the top 10-12 early and hold on. Ark may be able to stay up there but the coaching change is a concern. That's what worries me about USF. They can win their first five and still not be in the top 15.

In that case, go with Arkansas. They have Bama early but I think they can stay fairly highly ranked just on account of them playing in the SEC West.

That's my thought....... and call me a kool aid drinking homer but I'm going with Tennessee for my third pick. Hopefully the snakes have quit biting and Big Sal is going to give us some breaks.

I know but I really think UT is flying under the radar. Even if they get past FL, I don't think they'll break the top 15 so that's an issue.....just have to see who is left on the board.
