Speaking of Todd Raleigh

I saw that article a while back and did a little research. It seems like nothing more than a franchise of this:

WELCOME CENTER

I don't think whatever Todd's doing has even gotten off the ground.

So it's at best another kind of fan fiction, or like a movie that doesn't get green lighted?

I don't know, coincidence of name I guess...I don't care enough to spend the time to find out...

Time to move on imo.

We have a coach that wants to be here, we've got some players, we need more and as you stated we beat Vandy in the series and went 2-2 if you count the SEC tourney game...I'm not happy with it, but there IS progress.

The team that finished 6th in the SEC won the CWS.

I don't think it's a franchise, I just think Todd was to dumb to do a google search and find the name was already taken.

ReTodded Raleigh is the worst hire in UT sports history.

I'll be sure and stop by the school to show this to Todd, but it would be nice for you to just let him know one on one.
Todd came back to the community he excelled in, my hometown. Even he knows he did poorly at UT. Now he is investing in our young people and the surrounding counties. He has had plenty of offers to go around the USA, but chose to invest in young people instead of building his bank account, which is big enough. When successful former UT alum do things like this such as Peyton or EB, VN lauds them as heroes when they do one camp for one week, as do I. Todd has involved former WCU and UT players to take part in his training academy and they have been blessed as well as gave kids invaluable instruction. He wasn't a hall of fame coach at UT, but we shamefully fired our last hall of fame coach. Hmmm.

Criticize helping kids!? Shame on you. I rarely post on vn due to many peoples lack of integrity. Face to face, most posters wouldn't say the things said on here. Id be happy to give the address to Todd's school for a one on one but Nobody has the moxie for that. It's a shame that many posters live vicariously through UT sports. How sad. We will praise our successes and successful players but treat the ones that weren't good enough for pt or on loosing teams like trash. What a shame. I'd be happy to discuss this one on one with any asinine posters, but again many a coward fills the board full yet none are to be found in defense, in person. Brad Paisley says it right, "I'm always cooler online". Regardless we all know the cool ones from the others.

Relegated to coaching Little League. :)

Not sure how he will be able to communicate with these kids. Half of what he said to the players at UT were obscenities.

bamacheats is right. Todd Raleigh is the worst coaching hire in UT history. Worst coach and bigger jerk than Dooley.....and it's not even close.

Mike Hamilton is still the worst hire because he destroyed more than one sport.

Cool story bro. Obvious you're close to Todd. Good for you. But I'd leave a discussion about his character alone if I were you. It will not go well.

So, you're gonna make a special trip to stop by Raleigh's work place and show him where someone on a message board called him retarted? Let it go brother. Let it go.

there is not a single person who worked with Todd that was necessarily describe him as a "character guy".

The way he came in, the way he managed and the way he exited while trying to throw the program and an assistant coach udner the bus.

The players he threw away - many who were quality human beings. The top notch pitching coach he refused to communicate with so he could hire a yes-man.

His communciation with high school and other coaches was disturbing and effected his ability to recruit Div. 1 quality athletes.

The quality players that came to UT came because of loyalty to the school and not because they would have expert coaching and play with other great athletes.

His time at Western Carolina was similar with the Stalin-esque purges of the roster on at least 2 occasions.

I know everyone has friends- my friends put up with a lot of craziness as well. but it's really difficult to take Todd's side in an argument about UT baseball and class.

He is a piece of trash. And I can guarantee you there are several former coaches and players that would line up to tell him and you the same thing. He screwed a lot of people while here at UT and burned many bridges on his way out.

Todd is a gruff coach. No different than a lot of mine. All coaches purge rosters. The best ones as well as ones reaching for greatness. I never argued his failures. Assuming any of us know his professional offers based on limited info or pay sites is absurd. My argument was simply he is paying forward to today's youth and I detest posters throwing former UT people under the bus no matter their track record. Todd knew he had to win to stay here and was unhappy with his own performance. He knew the future outcome as we all did.

Today Todd is making a difference and probably has found his niche, which as we all know, takes time in our own lives to find. No, TR was not successful at UT but now is. Be happy for a VFL and go on. My main point is simply, stop the hate. If you were in his shoes you'd see how bad people were to him, as many were to Conzo, Phil, Arian, and the list keeps going.

Glad to be a VFL. Some are obviously better than others and few find success. These are just games we are talking about and we all want UT to win em all. Keep ur head up to all my vols. There will always be haters, I just refuse to be one. Go Vols.

I detest UT coaches that throw their own coaches and players under the bus. And for that reason, he will never be considered part of the UT family.
