In reference to Tennessee's new assistant, Kent Williams:

Williams is the No. 2 scorer in Southern Illinois University history and a was inducted last year into the SIU athletic hall of fame. He scored 15 of his 2,012 points against Tennessee in the San Juan Shootout during the 1999-2000 season.
The Vols won 87-74 in an intensely contested game that got pretty chippy at the end.

"I think me and Tony Harris got into it a little bit,'' Williams recalled Monday.

At one point, the Salukis made the Tourney several times, and went to the Sweet Sixteen, once, I think???

Too lazy to look it up.

Oooooooo yeah. I feel the need for a Zoloft after that memory.... I think I've selectively blocked that from my conscious thought since the night it occurred.

My fault, pooch, I misread where the guy played. I, for some reason, had in my mind that he used to play for Missouri State.

Apparently they changed the name because of some violations. At least that's what some say.

They changed the name because they were the second-largest university in the state, and they didn't want to be a "directional" school anymore. "Missouri State" sounds better for branding purposes than "Southwest etc."

They had been trying to change it since the 80's, and finally got away with it in the 2000's.
