Since its the off season, I figured it would be a good time for this. Is there a number that traditionally the leader of the team or just a lot of special players over the years have worn? For example: LSU always votes on who gets to wear the number 18....Im not saying UT does that necessarily but maybe someone has a specific number that has traditionally been worn by a Tennessee great. It is open for discussion, so it doesn't have to be one specific number but please provide examples.

My two suggestions (14 and 16) have already been proposed, so here's a moonwalking pony.

I don't know, but I recall that all-time jersey countdown the school did prior to last season and some of those were tough choices to name the greatest ever.

Take #7, for instance. Sure, most of us are going to say Condredge right away. So sorry, Chris White, Anthony Miller, Jason Parker, Deon Grant, Jerod Mayo, and Casey Clausen.

And that probably wasn't even the hardest one.

7 was actually the number that popped in my head the most but couldn't remember any big names outside of mayo and Clausen....i feel stupid for forgetting Condredge Holloway, but hey, I'm young so maybe I have somewhat of an excuse lol.

Rod is equivalent to all great vol players; 22 encompasses our history and is the jersey number on the heisman trophy.

Jk on the trophy, but serious about his overall talent.

7 was the first number that came to my mind.

Obviously the number is retired now but 92 seems to have had a few good players....White, Haynesworth, Harrell, etc.

Number 18 will get it's due, but I'll stay biased and say #45 meant more to his team than any other.

With your "etc" I know you mean Carlos Reveiz!

I always got a kick out of seeing him in 92 after White.
