I am truly amazed at the difference in special teams play this year. We are actually tackling again. Haven't muffed a punt. Palardy is absolutely killing it! JRM cannot be stopped. When was the last time we blocked a punt? These guys are playing their butts off!

By far the most consistant improvement UT has made from last year to this year. And if JRM keeps making plays on special teams, UT needs to start getting him some reps at linebacker. IMO

Jancek said this concerning JRM at linebacker:

“We are looking for some guys that can provide us with some depth and pull some weight on defense,” said Jancek. “He is certainly guy that we are going to consider and get him more in-tune with what we are doing and bring him along as quickly as possible.”

So we shall see.

IMHO - at the conclusion of the UK game when considering the improvement in ALL aspects of the game that will have been made over that same time in '12 (conclusion of UK game) every single true-blue Vol fan will smile knowing the dark clouds have broken up and the sun is finally starting to shine through. I also believe we'll be on our way to a lower-tier bowl - but a bowl is a bowl - so bring it.

That is outstanding news. Some guys just have a knack for being around the ball, and he seems like one. :good!:

I would like to see jrm in at nb for run support. This guy needs to be on the field. I know he has been moved to lb but he could play that in between role on the field.he could cover a te or come up (again) for run support. He is an absolute beast on special teams.

CBJ talked about this and said they spend an "inordinate amount of time" on special teams. Looking at the results, I have to feel comfortable with this staff and their ability to coach the game.

I agree JRM would be solid on 3rd down passing situations. Kid has some wheels. The last drive from GA in regulation showed how slow or D really is.

Thought I would never say this but Palardy is the MAN!

and special teams is a great place to see the benefit of coaching over raw talent and where even some great programs let slide.

You know, across the board, this coaching staff has improved nearly all areas. Just goes to show what a real coaching staff can do with player improvement.

I've made the same statement a few times this season.

After seeing this team get coached up a little, I truly wonder what the previous staff did at practice. Seriously, did they just throw a bag of footballs out there for the players, while the staff went to Dooley's office and watched Judge Judy?

Much better even than Kiffy with the mighty Eddie Gran at the helm.

Yeah, the word is, is that Dooley and staff are gone. It's great, it's a whole new team. It will prolly take us fans a while to get used to improving week to week. Go Vols!
