Is it possible that we have went from worst in the SEC to first in the SEC in half a season? I know we are at the top statistically but look at it.

-Colquitt is a top 3 punter in conference.
-Wilhoit is a top 3 kicker in conference.
-Hefney has revitalized the punt returning(we have some blockers now as well).
-Kickoff coverage has been great(for the most part) and punt coverage has been solid.
-Kickoff returns were pretty solid until Coker went down. They are a ? until Coker returns.

We had obviously a bad lapse in the coverage game against Georgia, and it wasn't at its best against Florida, but overall it's been a pretty good turnaround.

Florida was game 3. Hef wasn't returning punts and we hadn't started kicking it to the corner on KO. The UGA game had it's lapses but it was the first game experimenting with the corner kick.

I'm speaking only of coverage. We allowed a KOR and PR in that game, and was this close | | to allowing one with Florida. Besides those 3, though, it's been gravy.

The kick return against georgia wasn't a corner kick.

Why aren't we doing that more anyways?

That was a corner kick, we just didn't stay in our lanes. And we have kicked it to the corner on almost every kick since UGA.

We kicked it straight down the middle when it was taken back against us.

And if we are doing the corner kick, we aren't doing it as well.

Ummm, have you not watched a game since UGA? We have trapped each team inside the 20 2-3 times a game and allowed very few returns past the 25. And no, it wasn't down the middle.

We were both wrong. It wasn't down the middle, nor in the corner. It was somewhere in the middle of the two, near the hash.

He wasn't trying to do it regular. Watch the coverage. All of the defenders on the right were in one area, expecting it in the corner.

Well to me it looked like he it got there a lot faster... I don't know, I may need to see a tape of the other kickoffs before it..

I was never really worried about Colquitt or Wilhoit.

The punt return, punt coverage, and kick coverage units have been very much improved lately. Meant to mention something about it after the USC game, but yeah, very much improved.

Colquitt is probably the best punter in the conference.

I don't know what got into Hefney, but he sure has looked good returning punts the last 2 games. He's had flashes, but nothing like this.

He always has been a great punt returner, just too risky and fumbled sometimes. I think he had like 9 punt return TD's in high school.

What ever they're doing in practice , it's working. Trooper said the other night that they were emphasizing no penalties and fielding the ball, and letting things happen.

He returned punts all of last season didn't he? I only remember one mentionable return and that was called back on a penalty. There might have been another one, I'm not sure.

Gotcha. I hope he keeps up what he's been doing the last couple of games. That makes a huge difference.
