Spectrum cable

I just received my bill from Spectrum. $280 a month. I am not going to pay that price. I need some suggestions for alternatives. Thanks

I got rid of all my cable boxes and then went to the spectrum local office. Got in front of a pretty sharp young guy and went with Internet only and then added back in the spectrum app. There’s a couple of different app packages you can choose from off of their app. Pretty much got back the same channel lineup I had went down to less than $100 of a month and all my local channels. Do not call their home office and talk to those reps. They can’t do anything for you. The reps at the local office seemed to have more flexibility. I was even able to add two or three channels to the app package I chose. A lot of people also like YouTube TV and Hulu package.

I FEEL for yeah...my Comcast is NOW over $300/month ($309.65)...BUT...EVERY "cut the cable" avenue I have pursued, involves multiple remotes, lack of channels/choices or need for "add-ons' to NOT get EVERYTHING that i currently have by just SPEAKING into my remote...and I IMMEDIATELY have that Channel tuned in...along with 900+ others. Oh...and...BELIEVE ME..there are ACTUALLY times I can't find ANYTHING I want to watch (Thank the Lord for reruns of Mayberry 24/7 somewhere)

So...like an idiot...I shell out 3 Benji's monthly...

I have spectrum Internet $65 a month, gotta call em and push for a deal, YouTube TV now $83 a month and that gives me SEC+ on the ESPN app. Amazon prime, comes with Amazon account. I can get by with $148 a month.....but I also have Netflix, Paramount+, and peacock(got a deal for one year for $30), with those 3 I pay $170 a month and get everything I want.

thanks for the input. I just got off the phone with Spectrum and they have given me some options. I still may go with Utube. I have a month to decide.

I’m with spectrum. Got them down to around $150. Thats 1000 GB internet and TV select signature package. No cable
Box though it’s all streaming. They threw in a xumo box for free but you don’t have to use it. Also came with Disney+, paramount, and MAX (already have through at&t).

called in and renegotiated my dads spectrum.

did the homework for him. the sum of all add ons was about what he was spending.

cable providers can negotiate for content as they have the relationships, and subscribers.

I assure you there are other avenues and they are expensive, and getting more expensive daily

I've got spectrum with internet too. Got HBO, Showtime and MGM. I'm paying $250 a month.

I'd call them. They'll usually give you a deal.
Spectrum has all US based customer support. Ive had Comcast, ATT, and CenturyStink. If I lived in a Spectrum area id drop the local Power Company in a heart beat, for the aforementioned reasons of content. Customer service sucks at the other companies.

Was at a tech conference. Heard Chris Winfrey, Spectrum CEO, say theyre going to launch a three year price lock. All with no contract. You may get a better deal for paperless also.

Read also that they have dropped bottom out on price of their internet. Id call in.

Have you checked to see if your local utilities are offering fiber yet? TDS here now has lifetime lock 1 GB internet for $59/m. I called and threatened to cut the cord, and I was able to get everything down to about $170/m. The new system requires no boxes if you already have a router/mesh.
