We have none. Zero.

Until we get there it ain't happening.. Talent level or not zero team speed equals lower tier.

Blame it on the coaches that inherited this slow team. Can't turn the corner if you don't have speed.

We've got some great additions coming next year. Can't wait for the Berry bros, Bates, and others to get here.

I don't understand how the Defense is taking worse angles now than they did in the first few weeks

Said it all year... No speed at DE and LB

Dooley could never close on ANY speed on defense when recruiting...or big time defensive lineman...it is that simple. When you don't have sick speed on defense you get what we have here.

Remember this Auburn team had some great recruiting classes after their National Championship team...those kids quit on Chizik the way our kids quit on Dooley and the Gators have on Muschamp now. But make no mistake about it Auburn had a ton of top tier athletes.

In the 80s we had more speed than everyone else - Willie Gault and company. For some reason the rest of the SEC did not just lay down and let us run by them. You can defend against faster teams (well so far we can't but it can be done)

Still on board with CBJ but still curious as to why Foreman isn't playing more. Of all of the football recruits in TN last year, he had fastest 100 m time. You would think he could at leastprevent some of the long plays on defense and maybe help on the return game. Maybe he has fumbled a lot in practice. Sure would be nice to have one really fast player on the field.

So what is your excuse for being made to look like division 2 against missouri? Coach longevity:good!:

I recall Johnnie's strategy. Recruit receivers and when they arrive on campus, put em on defense. Speed is a good thing on D. As mentioned a few times here, speed is coming....soon.

Fine we don't have speed. However the horrible angles our players continue to take is on coaching. It's a combination of the two.

Also our effort is crap. Perhaps once these down trodden seniors graduate, maybe CBJ can get through to the underclassmen.

A few times, I saw good angles but saw the speed of Auburn player kick in and make Hugh gains.

They are fast enough to make some plays. They aren't 444 yards rushing when only attempting 7 passes fast. When they get by you, there has to be someone, slow or not, 5-10 yards downfield there to make the tackle. There wasn't a host of volunteers anywhere to be seen today.

I was watching a game on tv the other night and this really fast team - the Ducks? got beat by this team that ran like its feet were stuck in cement - I think they were called the Cardinal or something like that. Anyway, them Cardinal had some good coaches who had taught them some football fundamentals - they was playing their position like it was drawn up, not letting fast guys get outside of them and everything like that. Any ways, the Cardinal ended up winnin, not because they were faster or more athletic, but because they executed a sound game plan. But I guess you must be right cause everyone keeps sayin it that the faster team always wins.
