I have kind of a different take on this years vols. As fans we've been through decades of disappointments, mismatched coaches, transfers, legal issues, injuries, and general discouragement. We have been defeated by power houses such as Georgia State and Wyoming. But this year for some reason things have changed. Hendon Hooker, a Virginia Tech transfer, author of children's christian books, a combination of 2 and 3 star players and some judicious transfers have remade our team. An epochal game characterized by a wobbly altered kick, a beautiful orange sunset, and a field smothered in orange have transformed the fan base. Fans are bringing out their orange gear out of the closet and proudly hailing each other at gas stations and convenience stores. What has happened? I submit that their is a spiritual lesson here. Years of infamy have given up to a confident feeling of pride. This is the way God works. He sometimes takes the broken things of our lives and reveal something beautiful. Not to wax too religious about this but this is the way of human life. I'm not smart enough to know Tennessee's future, but I want them to line up each week, play their best and maybe just maybe be on the winning end of the score! Thank you for your time reading this and I hope to see you in church this Sunday!

Nice thoughts OP.

I have always said give me a team full of 3-4* players that want to be at TN and want to work to win and we can take over college football.

I never pray for an outcome of a game. I know God can handle all prayers, I just choose not too.

But man I’ll tell you, sitting smack dab in that Bama booster section, watching an incredibly stressful game for me, I broke down and asked God to give the people of TN this one. After all it’s only a game. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. My wife said she was literally praying the entire second half. 😂

No I'm not superficial enough to believe God takes sides in football games but there might be some divine life lessons embedded in Saturday's win. I don't wish ill on any player from any team but I really love the tenor of the 2022 Vol team. I also loved Josh Dobbs and the way he lived and played.

Asking Santa for a win on the other hand is 100% okay.
