got it at wally world the other day and i have to share it with ya.

says that 3 teams have a chance in the sec and they all play each other.

that would be, ut - florida-lsu.

it ranks spurrier as the best coach in the sec. with cpf second.

it says we have the hardest schedule.

players of the year.... offense- gerald riggs
defense- stanley mcclover, end auburn

here is the top 25 according to the sporting news.....

1. usc (big surprise)
2. tennessee (i guess we should be playing usc in the rose bowl)
3. ohio state. (wideout/pr ginn is fastest player in nation)
4. virginia tech (marcus vick)
5. texas (vince young, enough said)
6. lsu (great wideouts down there)
7. miami
8. michigan
9.oklahoma (life after white)
10. iowa (i see them higher than this)
11. florida ( if they beat us they may be playing in the rose bowl)
12. florida state
13. georgia (rebuilding)
14. texas a & m (they dont wanna play us, lol)
15. cal ( we get them early next year)
16. auburn
17. purdue
18. georgia tech (could be a surprise team.)
19. louisville
20. boise state (soft schedule)
21. bowling green (?)
22. iowa state (can they beat anyone in the big 12)
23. virginia
24. arizona state
25. utah (life after smith and um)

well there is the top 25 according to the sporting news. dont know how reliable they are. they have us undefeated though, and winning the sec.

If he was a GREAT coach, he would have taken my Skins farther than he did. Great coaches can get it done on any level IMO.

Spurrier is the best?

Good lord, what a joke.

He is a good coach that will get stuck with crappy talent in that Coach's graveyard of a university.

I hate Spurrier and wish he would lose every game, but that won't happen. However, he is a great college football coach. He came into the SEC and completely changed the way football was played. Even with that he's still a jackass and I hate to even say he's from TN. :moon2:

Right now, I think Mark Richt and Fulmer are better coaches.

Spurrier was great in the 90's....great....this is 2005...a much different landscape.

Spurrier has done nothing to deserve being the #1 coach right now

Very good point! I completely agree. Yeah, he was definately a great coach in the 90's at Florida. He hasn't won a single game at USC, not to mention his disastourous experiment in Washington. So, how can you give him the ranking of #1 coach in the SEC. I would say RIGHT NOW that Fulmer and Tuberville are the best coaches in the SEC.

Tubby is an average coach at best. His record the last 5 years speaks for itself.

He had insane talent and finally produced.

Thats it.

Would take Richt over him in a heartbeat.

There is a reason Tubby was almost fired before last year

Precisely. Ol' Tommy didn't get Auburn that far last year. It was the fact that they had two of the best college running backs in recent history in the same class, a QB that finally figured things out, and other talent in every area of the game comparable with any team in the country.

Without their little "scheduling" mishap and perhaps if they had a better coach, they would have been an even match for USC in the Orange Bowl.

I also think that it's crazy to rank Spurrier #1 since he has been away from the SEC for a while now. You can't deny that Richt is a good coach, but he hasn't been in the SEC for as long as Fulmer. Fulmer has been in the SEC longer than any other coach in the conference and is holding around a .800 winning %. They should have ranked Fulmer as #1, if for no other reason, out of respect.

i really hope we dont have all of these expectations for nothing.

But, i cant wait till football starts up..I'm so pumped..And i think we have a great chance of going undefeated IF we can get by FL, GA, and LSU.

By some of the pre-season polls, I beg to differ

This year its hard not to respect us and our ability....We're loaded...In the past we've had teams like this and we've not had a very high pre season ranking...oh well...I'm liking getting all this respect...all I can say is...ITS ABOUT TIME! lol

Again, I couldn't disagree more.

2004 with a new QB saw his Pre-Season Top 15
2003 saw us at #13 in the Pre-Season
2002 saw us with a #5 Pre-Season ranking
2001 saw us with a #7 Pre-Season ranking

I think that is quite a good amount of respect

Guess from the cover we see who Sporting News is betting on as the starting QB?

All I want is a preseason top 5-10. Much lower than that makes it REALLY tough to move up in the rankings week-to-week. If we start at #2, so be it. I'll be more anxious to see where we are after a couple of road trips. . . .to Gainesville and Baton Rouge.
