Spring practice starts today (Article included)

With spring practice starting today here is a bit of info I thought some could use. I see a lot of asking about injuries and such.

I am hoping to be at the Orange and White game this year . . . I think this team has a lot of potential, this year may be tough due to team 118 being so young but the next three years will be fun to watch.

The O and D lines will have a steep learning curve, especially in the SEC; this is where CBJ and the position coaches will earn their salaries on a daily basis. So many of these kids were able to dominate their opponents with their shear size and strength, this aspect will be neutralized with the competition on Saturdays.

The one huge question that I have is this: Who will take over the kicking game (punting, kick-offs, and PAT's)?

While this team is young there are still nice amount of upperclassmen still on this team and they will need to step up as leaders and on and off the field. If these player come in focus, commit, and have a sense of maturity(ex. Cam Sutton) they will be able to play out of beyond their years.

I don't really mind the youth too much. I look at it this way, most of the guys on the team who left were never part of a winning team, these new kids have been on HS teams that have gone undefeated, won state titles etc..., I think many of these guys will come in and have the attitude of expecting to win and be very confident.

Will it translate to wins?? we will see, but it can't be much worse than what we've been experiencing the last few years. flame away.

Ahhhhhhhh! Orange football transfusion! Football in the spring. New players, healed players, QB competitions, new receivers, new lines, RB developments, defensive secondary, getting a bit of a depth chart look, and the ORANGE & WHITE GAME on a hopefully balmy Saturday afternoon in the middle of April.

This is a very very young and talented team, but we still got to hang in there this year and give them a year to grow, I know I get tired of hearing next year but this time next year with a new solid recruiting class coming in, I think next year we can say 8 wins without wishing.
