Good..the world of college football is better with the OBC in it..too much coach speak and political correctness from the younger coaches

South Carolina: Steve Spurrier tells reporters he’s “back on the 4-5 year plan” and regrets his comments about two or three more years. A one-year extension to Spurrier’s contract is expected.

too late to take it back but i guess he had to say this

im kind of surprised it had such a big effect on recruits ive always thought it was obvious he's gonna retire in 2 or 3 years the guy wants to golf a couple yrs before they put em 6 ft under

yeah, I never thought that Spurrier was one of the "die in the coaching box ones" like Paterno

i think right now sc fans are hoping to hire a some what big name at defensive coord and make him head coach in waiting

i think they have to do the hciw thing sooner or later might as well now and try to save a pretty good recruiting class

Why would he care if he plans on bouncing in the next couple of years anyways?

Maybe he isn't a POS and wants to do it right and leave the program in decent shape when he goes.

But if it means Tennessee scooping up top SC talent that otherwise would play for the chickens, I hope Spurrier leaves that place in shambles.

If next year goes like this year has he wont have to worry about it.

I think next year will be his final year regardless of the outcome. He hasn't had the passion for coaching since he left Florida. I think when UT beat Florida and went on win the national championship game that he never fully recovered on a confidence level from that.

Just sweeping up the mess he created with the 2-3 year comment. I could see him done in two years, especially if the SC squad under-performs again.

This has been a learning experience for me. I never really understood the whole HCIW thing, but I do now. Tough spot to be in for recruiting (SC and Spurrier).

Dude's done stuff at SC that's never been done. He certainly didn't lose his passion for coaching in FL.

He barely recruits, and by his own admission he doesn't give it 100% most of the time. He's coasting. I think if he really gave it his all with regards to recruiting and coaching, he could win the SEC

I think he has said this every year since he has been at cock central. Im thinking 3 max, inless the wheels come off again next year then he is gone.
