Darth Visor has a worse record at South Carolina than he did at Duke!

Duke 20-13-1
-got better each year with a conference title in his last year

USC 21-16
-worse each year (SEC-wise).

Well, let's see here. For one, Duke is in the ACC and South Carolina plays an SEC schedule.

Next.

This has to be one of the most puzzling thought processes I see over here. One day, everyone wants to can Fulmer and dream about hiring a new coach, many who wish for Steve Spurrier. Then in a few weeks, Spurrier is over the hill and washed up.

Make up your mind!

Also compare the competition from both periods. I would say he is not doing worse than at Duke but it definately shows he misses the talent pool Florida gave him.

From what I have read so far this week there are alot of LSU fans that think he still has it. His name is the one that keeps coming up on fan wish lists if Miles leaves.

I'm not saying he's washed up at all. I was just surprised to see that he has struggled as much as he has.

While Duke is in the ACC, it is Duke.

I thought he'd have USC in much better shape than he does. That's all.

That's actually incorrect. Carolina finished 5th in the East in 2006 and 4th in the East in 2007.

I was looking at W/L record...

5-3
3-5
3-5

The point is that he progressed in 3 years at Duke but his best year at USC so far has been his first.

Still too early to tell of course but early predictions were not for this pattern.

I think.......well, I still don't know what I think about this year.

But, overall Carolina is competing with teams that killed them on an annual basis. We played close with UT the last three years, beat Florida for the first time since entering the conference and are going to bowls more often (probably not this year). I think it will be a process that will take getting players in that can make it work. But even at that, there are no guarantees that you can still win a conference championship.

I'll get worried if we're 6-6 for the next two years. Disappointed? Yes. Questioning Spurrier's ability to get things done, here? Not a chance.

You have had two coaches in row that have won national titles and can't even win their own division at USCe. If Spurrier can't at least get to a title game this program never will.
