if there is one thing to be concerned about it would be the fact that they can hold on the ball for extended lengths of time...that 4th qtr against Auburn was impressive...we're going to have to be real good on 1st and 2nd down defense. put them in situations they don't want to be in...if they are getting good yardage on 1st down....that's when the 2nd and 3rd and short trick plays etc...could come out....

....yeah a game coming down to who has the ball last is much harder to pull out with the new clock rules. We need to come out firing on all cylinders on offense and help our defense by keeping them off the field as much as possible.

Is different then his Gator days. There he would have go full speed from start to finish and run up score. Now he just hopes he doesn't get the same. Chances are they will play us tough and close but man do I hope it goes our way as in the UGA game. Now that would be Karma.

if we can get up early on 'em, and force them to play from behind...that will take them out of what they want to do...maybe get us a turnover or two.

i hope we start off strong....if we let them hang around until late....the pucker factor will be high on our sideline.

Hey......this is great.....I knew you guys really got it. Man, I spent a lot of time on this board really wondering if you UT fans really were that much in the dark about this game. I was kinda hoping that you were but OH WELL. Its gonna be fun. By the way I agree with a lot of the analysis up top....thats good.

the game does have to played and you do have to execute to win. that's never changed.

Most of us still feel we will win. there are keys in every game, generally, no matter who the opponent is, that you have to perform well in to win the game.

but the opininon of SC hasn't changed. they still haven't beaten anyone of note. they have looked impressive on both sides of the ball at different points in the season. and in probably the best game you played all year....you still lost. think about that for a minute....

we've played too horrible games...Bama and Air Force. and won. we played our best game against Cal and UGA. and won...convincingly.

point is...we don't need a superhuman effort to beat SC. we just need to play our game, and not make mistakes. SC will need that super human effort...even more than the Auburn game...cause we know how that worked out for you guys.

play hard.
Go Vols.

Yeah, and Spurrier is always good for a suprise wrinkle against us (on offense) our boys will need to play with their heads on straight.

agree wtih that 100%...and if the game stays close, the longer it stays close, the more likely we'll see something come up...we'll really need to play smart....

that trick play in the MSU game...you knew it was a matter of time...and boom. game over.

Fortunately, we have 7 games of good tape to review....i have a feeling we'll be looking for something sometime.

IMO,take away one play last year and we would have won with our (non-productive) offensive performance last year.:dunno:

The interception Clausen threw on the quick out was a killer last year.

Starting inside SC terrirtory 3 times in a row and getting no points beat us last year, so pick any play on any of those non-drives and it was the most important.

SC has a tendency to play ugly, close games against good opponents, and Williams-Bryce is going to be a tough environment in a night game where the weather might be sloppy.

All that being said, there is no excuse for UT to lose this game. We have better players on both sides of the ball. All they have to do is play.

But you didn't, your team better be ready to play tomorrow night...

Uuuhhh ok. Ditto back.

Not discounting a Gamecock win but you'll need to do everything right and we'll have to make some mistakes to make a ballgame out of it. Stevie Poo has a way of doing just that but don't count on it.
