funny. anywhere else his recent results would get you fired. How many 6-6 or 7-5 seasons now?

But i guess it shows just how bad south carolina football is/was

Spurrier's record after 5 seasons at South Carolina is 35-27.

Notre Dame just fired a guy with an identical 35-27 record over the same 5-year span.

This should speak volumes to USCjr fans regarding their AD's view of the football program.

I'm sure they don't get it though...

Without googling it. It could be their best 5 year span, EVER!! :eek:hmy:

Under a single coach that is..

I was just thinking the same thing. Since Joe Morrison died, they've had to endure guys like Brad Scott and Sparky Woods and a 1-21 stretch by Lou Holtz. Steve Spurrier is looking like Knute Rockne to them right now.

Here it is:

Warren Giese 5yrs .570 ('56-'60)
Joe Morrison 6yrs .580 ('83-'88)
SS 5yrs .560 ('05- present)

So he has the best winning percentage in 20 yrs and third best in 40 yrs...ouch!

Also has the fourth best percentage of 5+ year coaches since 1934.

They are mediocrity at its best and will pay to stay there. All other options lead to utter failure.

Carolina loves mediocrity and Spurrier loves golf. It's a perfect marriage.

what are the chances spurrier actually turns this around at this point? if i was alumn i'd want them to roll the dice with someone young and take my chances that we'd go back to suckatude.

Here's a good stat, 1 ten win season in school history. The only time they've ever reached double digits was in 1984. That's so long ago that was the last time Kentucky beat us.
