Spurrier TRASHES Espn over Pro-day

He has a point.

But ESPN is concerned with ratings, and it's not debatable that USCw draws more interest than USCe.

If Clowney were draft eligible, I don't think there's any doubt that ESPN would be covering the Pro Day in Columbia.

I don't doubt that Spurrier tells them where to stick it next year when Clowney is draft eligible.

Opening sentence of article "South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier is never at a loss for words". Always interesting

I agree. Id still like to punch CSS in the throat with a pair of brass knuckles, but the man is right.
All I ever hear from ESPN is USCw, ND, and Ohio State. Even when they are bad they still talk them up and have 1 hour special programs about the teams. It makes me sick. GBO

I doubt it. National exposure for your school is never a good thing to turn down, as much as you want to stick it to ESPN.

LOL. I LOVE it. Spurrier could care less what anyone thinks. He's so much easier to like at South Carolina than he was at Florida for some reason :D

That's because they have insane national followings. South Carolina does not.

This is true, but to me everything ESPN seems to put out is about USCw, ND, and Ohio State. I think its crazy that ESPN aired a 1hour show about Ohio State football a day or 2 after Alabama won the NC. I might have missed it but I havent seen anything about Alabamas NC run. Dont get me wrong---I hate Alabama as much as any other Vol but Alabama is big news in the football world. USCe has had 2 pretty good seasons and Alabama won the NC 3 of the last 4 years and ESPN has a show about a pre-season #1 USCw that didnt finish in the top 25 last year. Something aint right. GBO

Then that would indicate to me that unranked USC and Ohio State still draw higher ratings than Alabama. Also, consider contracts. Why would ESPN hype up a program whose big-time games they probably won't get?

If Spurrier has an issue with ESPN's love of other programs, then he needs to press Slive to draw up a contract with Disney.

He's absolutely correct, though I can understand why ESPN would send crews to USCw as opposed to USCe.

Idle threat stevie. ESPN is well aware that USCe and Miss St, do love, Thursday night games.
